  1. https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2026/EcoFlow-Technology-Recalls-Delta-Max-2000-Power-Stations-Due-to-Risk-of-Serious-Burn-Injury-and-Fire-Hazard Just a heads up in case any of you may have or use this particular brand & model powerstation in either your Oliver or at home.

  2. Simple answer is to get under your trailer and take a picture of your axle label. If it states D35 then 3500 lbs or D52 for 5200. If no label, look at the back of the braking plates for the drums/wheels. If you see the heads of a 4-bolt pattern, you have 3500 lb axles and if it's a 5-bolt pattern then 5200 lb axles. I purchased and self-installed Alcan HD springs (including their HD shackles and wet-bolts), Dexter D52 axles and new Dexter EZ Flex equalizers. Given your considering this important investment you may want to read through my thread, even if you plan to have the installation done by Alcan or others. Also read through the first few pages of this long thread (but after a few pages it gets repetitive)! 🤣

  3. For the thermostat: my original Dometic thermostat requires 12 volts to work and operates through a relay arrangement located at the air conditioner. I didn’t use any of that and had SDG folks dispose of the relay box and just bundle the unused wires at the air conditioner. The only wires now used at the air conditioner are the 120 volt hot, neutral and ground. My original thermostat was mounted to the right of the pantry above the rear dinette seat so your installation may be different, Oliver has mounted the thermostat in several different locations over the years. I ran new wires for the thermostat behind the pantry and into the left rear corner area and connected to the two wires (blue and blue/white striped wires) that go directly to the Suburban furnace. The original telephone type thermostat wire was abandoned and bundled in the wiring space to the right of the pantry. The simple thermostat is fully manual/mechanical and mounts in the same location as the old one. Now the air conditioner and the furnace are totally separate and operate independently from each other. I did have to fabricate a mounting plate for the new thermostat to cover the holes from the old thermostat.

  4. I’m probably wrong but I think the Atmos and Tosot units are both made by Gree and are essentially identical. Country of origin may be different though.

  5. No, they can retroactively enforce this. Though anyone who doesn't have this sort of protection is crazy not to have it added to their RV. And have it hard wired inside the RV... If you rely on pedestal protection you're not protected from an open ground if the power cord or it's connections are damaged beyond it.

  7. Unfortunately, Oliver #113 is in Gallup NM! I say this… only because we had 2 weeks to camp in SW Colorado, but hurricane weather (really?) has brought serious RAINS to the area, now cutting our time away in half! Never happened to us before, as rain is a luxury down here in the SW. Next 5-day outlook for Durango is rain, rain and more rain. Locals were in line at the County maintenance facility filling sandbags! If we had more time, we’d wait it out, but we don’t. We had earmarked a half dozen Forest Service entrance roads, just east of Mancos CO, just beautiful! But given this rain, threat of flash floods and MUD which doesn’t play well with our trailers. Towed Durango to Gallup today, where after an hour on the road the rain stopped. Just started raining good down here by 6PM. So where’s Ollie? Camped at Walmart-Gallup. What a busy place! But we found a nice edge back edge of the lot! 😂 The recent rains created a pond for our visit and what a view considering! We feel blessed! Can better a campsite be found at a Walmart? Back home tomorrow, 3 hours west on I-40 and at Ash Fork AZ, another hour south on AZ HWY 89! If it’s still raining, it will be dry at home and in my garage. We already scheduled pickleball with friends for Sunday and Tuesday! 😎

  8. Want to try out, test those new springs? Just tow your Oliver through New Mexico! As soon as you cross the state line you see the difference in poor road maintenance! We hit DOZENs of heaves on the state highways, heading south to Gallup. Twice it was so bad, I could hear my front tires chirp as they got air while I’m on the brakes! And I was being careful, driving 10 under the limit! Everything in the Oliver was just fine! The Oliver on Alcan Springs traversed the heaves better than my HD truck! Maybe upgrading to Alcan Springs is like trading in your 1/2-ton for a 3/4-ton truck! 🤣

  9. When we were there having SDG install our Tosot air conditioner we drove over to Shipshewana. Interesting German type town with shopping and a dinner show facility. I think that there is only one (correct me if I’m wrong) aftermarket air conditioner that will utilize the internal drain system. I think it’s the Dometic Freshjet unit. I saw one installation and was not overly impressed with the unit itself. The installation was good but the unit didn’t impress me. If you decide to use SDG for the installation please contact me first for a couple of suggestions on the installation. SDG did a great job of installing the new unit.

  10. One more post from Jasper… Got up to go potty this morning a little after 7. It was quite foggy. On my walk back a lady warned me to watch for the elk. There was a bull and two cows. Which is a bad mix. Sure enough, I saw a large shadow in the fog, no more than 10 yards from the Ollie. The bull. Carefully I took the widest path around him to get to the trailer. As I rounded the front of the trailer there were the two cows. No more than 10 FEET from the front door!!! Too late. They were all looking at me already. I scurried the last few steps as quickly and quietly as I could. Fumbled with the door. Lost a croc. Almost peed again. But made it. Then got Melissa out of bed to take some pictures from INSIDE the Ollie 😂

  12. We're in site 5 which sits by itself for $35/night. Sites 3-4 were also nice and 1-2 are down in a bottom, all for $30. I imagine they're less busy since they are dry sites (good water offered at the farm), they're not keeping up the property so well and the river decks are not level and a bit creaky. Most RVers want hook-ups , but we wanted to be close to town and be alone. The RV park next door with hookups cost double and ALL the National campgrounds are closed now (we drove to McPhee Campground today). Not sure, are they closed after October 1st, or due to the Government shut-down? The Recreation.gov website is presently nonfunctional! Regardless of where you stay, come with empty fridge and shop at the Delores Market! Onsite butcher, great produce variety, local fresh baked goods and the best Cherry pie anywhere. They were out of pies when we stopped in late Sunday (got a small pumpkin bread instead, yum). We got an apple pie today with brown sugar crisp top! Yep, we've been there twice in just 24 hours! Pics from when we were here late june...

  13. Where's Ollie? At Along the River a farm in Delores, CO! They were closed for the season but Jeanna (owner, tiny woman age 88, husband 96, farming all her life and today rides an ATV like a young girl), she said it's been a slow season, so she re-opened for our 3-night stay. We have the place to ourselves and the river sounds just wonderful! Delores Along the River.MOV

  14. Our Hull 45 was without any electrical protection also so I installed a hard wired Hughes Power Watchdog as well as their Autoformer voltage booster. Looking to upgrade to their new "Watchdog Powercenter" once it's back in stock. It combines the Autoformer voltage booster and Watchdog protection into one unit to protect from low voltage, surges, and wiring issues. Pricey, but worth it, IMHO... Watchdog Powercenter

  15. Yep, agreed! OTT did not install one on our older hull, so after asking Forum members, as to "Why?" I installed the same PI EMS shortly after purchasing our Oliver. We had the same EMS model in a Class C, and the 50A version in a Class A we had in the past. They are standard and code compliant. As far as electrical installations, it's relatively simple and I also agree with CRM, that pedestal protection has the issue he cited and others.

  19. A Watchdog with EPO will shut off the power if the ground is missing, Not sure about the Progressive units that come in Oliver's, though.. Edit- according to AI the Progressive EMS does cut off power when the ground is missing. Would still check the owners manual to be sure.

  22. If you’ve ever been to Jasper this is what Whistler Campground looks like after the fire. Of course it’s sad, but the campground and the surrounding area are open for business. The forest is showing strong signs of recovery. Even now it’s beautiful in a different way

  24. I think you will be glad you did. 👍🏻 We rarely use our Truma Aventa, but when we do it’s nice to be able to listen and talk to each other, talk on the phone, or listen to music. We rarely use our TV, but it’s nice to know we will be able to hear it now. We brought our old “Demonic” AC back home from Oliver and sold it to a guy who owns a food truck for $600. No more ear plugs.

  26. I've used both of these type of nuts. Airplane mechanics call rivnuts "the spawn of the devil" because they inevitably come loose and start to spin. They are difficult to then either remove or squeeze again to try to tighten them up. That being said, I've had a couple of airplanes where these are used (and yes, some have come loose). The benefit of the threaded type inserts is they can be installed in much more cramped spaces - like the bays of the Oliver. The rivnuts (especially the large ones needed to mount the Victron Multiplus II) require a tool that is too large to fit into the bays.

  27. These fasteners rely on the strength and having thicknes of the mounting board. I prefer to use Rivet Nuts (AKA RivNuts/Blind Flange Nuts). They have the advantage of expanding on the far side of the connection as well as board strength for pullout. I've found them to be quite strong when the surface being mount to is solid. Would not work on "foam board", but for PVC and metal they are super... at least from my experience.

  28. Great news!!!!! Oliver (Jason Essary) called me and offered to cover the BBQ which I accepted. What this means is those of you that paid for their dinner will be reimbursed. Please extend thank yous to Oliver Travel Trailers for their generosity. There is still a cost for the hall rental and the music at the potluck which comes out to $12.00 per campsite. Paula and I discussed how we would handle this and have come up with this: The money we will be reimbursing will be less $12.00. those that paid for 1 dinner will get $13.00; those that paid for 2 will get $38.00; those that didn't pay for dinner please bring $12 so Paula and I may be reimbursed for costs we covered.
