  1. Mike and Carol are correct. Since we do not all have new campers (and things change over the years and even in the same year), it is best to ask your questions to your sales person at Oliver.
  2. Your Oliver Model and year is not showing up in your signature yet. 1. I would suggest that you look at the gas line from the propane tanks to the quick disconnect and verify there is no valve somewhere along the path of the gas line. 2. As previous mentioned, check your grill to make sure there is no regulator on the grill. Since the Oliver already has a gas regulator, if there is also one on your grill that would reduce the gas pressure so much that you would likely not see any gas flow at the grill.
  3. Thanks again Andrew and Mossey: I tried the generator after turning off the inverter 15 amp breaker and turning off the dehumidifer. The AC and AC compressor started up immediately just like it was on AC shore power!! KenB: Thanks for the suggestion. I have the Truma instant water heater so no 110 switch for the electric heating element. Problem solved. This is a great forum for solving problems.
  4. Thanks Andrew and Mossey: Yes I do have the MicroAir Easy Start. When trying the generator, I had nothing running except for a small dehumidifier. I will try the generator again and turn off the dehumidifier and look for the breaker for the Charger/inverter and turn that off. Thanks for the suggestions!
  5. I have a Powermate PM2000i Inverter Generator which I bought very cheap, since it was not running. I had to unfreeze the cylinder as the previous owner had not used it for 3 years and let the fuel dry up. I also had to clean out the carb. After spending some hours working on the generator, I finally got it running and it runs fine and provides the proper power. This generator provides 2000 watts Surge and 1600 rated watts running power. My Oliver AC has the soft start installed. When powering up the Oliver using the generator, the AC will start and run but whenever the AC compressor tries to come online, the generator slows down. After a few seconds when the compressor does not come online, the generator will come back to full speed until the compressor tries to start again after around 5 minutes. Is the 2000/1600 watts to small to run the AC compressor? I see the Honda EU2200i and the Yamaha 2200i, the rated wattage is 2200/1800 watts (surge/running power) and people on the forum say they run their AC units with those generators. The Honda 2000i generator provides only 2000/1600 watts of power like mine. Can people get their AC' compressors running with their 2000i generators? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
  6. I have 4 AGM Trojan batteries. They are still going strong and do not need to be replaced. When they need to be replaced, I plan to replace them with AGM batteries, which I believe are manufactured in the US.
  7. I have seen on this forum where people are using a inverter generator (like a 1000 watt) to charge just their batteries.
  8. SteveCR likely has the reason you have not be able to get any TV channels. Hull 812: If you are talking about the Control Panel for the WiFi Ranger, you are confusing the WiFi and the TV. They have nothing to do with each other. WiFi is for getting the internet. The TV has nothing to do with the internet. (unless you are using a Firestick or some other type devise to plan movies that picks up internet.)
  9. It would be helpful if you included in your signature the year of your Oliver and Model so people here could help you solve problems. My Omni-directional antenna is in the attic (rear overhead compartment) and when you push the button on the plate the light will go on indicating that the transmitter is on. After doing that, run a scan on your TV so it will find channels that are available in your area. Once the scan is complete, you should be able to watch a TV channel. Good luck and let us know how you did.
  10. As far as I know the WiFi Ranger is only for internet connections. I have the Omni-directional antenna and I can not get any TV reception unless I turn on the amplifier which is located in the attic. Once the amplifer is on, when I scan for TV channels I get a lot of channels when the Ollie is in my driveway. I have never tried it when camping as we are generally doing a lot of other things other than watching TV.
  11. John: If you scrowl up in this post, you will see what varies people are using for pressure in their Oliver tires. Also in this post, it looks like Oliver is recommending 55 psi, but it is not noted if that is for the Elite or the Elite II.

    Toilets

We have a basket in the head for Pee TP. Cuts down on how much TP goes into the composting bin. We got used to doing this when vacationing in the BVI's where it is common place. Got reminded of the the idea from 2 other Oliver owner's when we viewed their Oliver prior to buying.
  13. I purchased a 38 ILD KTT mattress and it is fine for sitting and great for sleeping and a little firmer than their standard.
  14. We looked into the Southern mattress as well as the KTT mattresses. I decided on the KTT mattresses and bought them straight from the factory in CT in the spring of 2021. I picked them up in CT (closer and less expensive then gonig to Oliver in TN). They do not have any springs in them. I had KTT make the foam a little firmer than what OTT buys. They are very very comfortable and we love them.
  15. Frank C. Great post - Thanks. For the wiring, did you just crimp each wire connector, or did you soder each wire connection? Have you seen any leaks around the edge seal?
  16. I have a older Black and Decker Air Station (my model 9527 can be bought used on e-bay for $49.00) and has worked great for me. I think the new Black and Decker air stations would preform well and are not expensive.
  17. You might want to call KTT. they are located in CT. Maybe you could buy their mattresses direct. We have the KTT mattress and love them.
  18. Bryan: When I was in the market for a RV, I looked first at the Elite. I thought that would be what I would buy until I saw the Elite II. I would suggest that you look at a Elite II prior to Oliver starting production. You may change your mind. Even though you have your order into Oliver, that is just a place holder in production. You could change to the Elite II if you decide to. The Elite II is obviously a little longer, but has a lot more inside storage space for both food (with the pantry) but also for your belongings. I find it better fit for extended camping trips. You could use John's idea of a front trailer hitch to move the Elite II into you yard. I also find that the Elite II with the double axle is easier to back up then my single axle trailers. Either way, you have an order into one of the best RV's manufactured and the best customer service company.
  19. roguebooks Thanks for posting this issue. As soon as I finished reading the post, I went out to my 2018 Elite II and checked to see if the connections were tight, which they were. Attached is pictures of my transfer switch, which is a Series 5100 switch. When you get the new one, let us know if the wire connectors are different then on our transfer switch.
  20. Not sure where you got your information of $50K in 2020 for an Elite II, but that is not correct. (Maybe it was the Elite I price.) Looking at my Oliver trailer receipt, I can tell you that for my 2018 Oliver Elite II, the base price was $54,100,00, not including the main options I have on my trailer. Therefore a 2020 Elite II must have been higher and therefor your % increase is also not correct.
  21. Hi Katjo: I and Maniac and a number of other owner's in Maine keep our Olivers outside and do not cover them. Our average snowfall along the coast is 50" to 70" and inland is 60" to 110" in Maine. Along the coast where I live, we can get a storm that drops 10" or more in one day. I do not remove my AGM batteries and the solar panels always keep the batteries at or near 100%. Although not necessary, if the snowfall is over 8", I will brush the snow off the solar panels just so they start charging sooner. If it is less than 8", I let the snow melt off the panels. It will melt after a couple days. I have not seen any sign of UV degration of the gelcoat with my 2018 Elite II (sun is not that strong in the north). I do wash and apply 2 coats of wax in the spring, wash it as needed in the summer and install one coat of wax half way through the summer. In the fall, as part of winterizing the water system, I will wash and wax the Oliver. I used to put a cover on my 34' Luhrs sportfisherman as well as a 24' T-Top boat and it was a hard task as the cover was heavy not easy to move around. If you buy a cover for your Oliver you will need to provide a protection (and secure the protection) on the sharp edges as Patriot suggested above. Now that I am older, I would not consider a cover as they are not necessary. Maybe different where he sun is stron and there is a lot of smog. Hope this information helps you in making a decision.
  22. If interested, I have this brand new exterior shower faucet for sale. Still in original box. I bought it for a previous camper but did not install it as I sold it and bought by Ollie. PM me and we can discuss selling and shipping.
  23. I agree with all the comments above. I will only add that the Oliver trailers are very good at holding their value and used Oliver's are selling for near their new cost.
  24. That is funny. When I was in college and I had got a infuse of some new money from Dad, I would take my laundry to a place that washed, dried and folded and next door was a bar (to kill the time, have a drink and read one of my text books). I usualy did my own laundry though as I was penny pinching most of the time so I could buy some beer. Yes there are places that still fold your laundry. I know of a couple of places in the City of Portland that do that.
