  1. We use split foam pipe insulation for a lot of things. I have a couple of short chunks in the upper drawer under the stove. First, it acts as a wedge to keep the utensil trays from sliding around, since they don't perfectly fill the width/length of the drawer. Second, I place the foam with the slit facing up and use it as a knife holder. I also use a small piece of the foam insulation to prop the freezer door open when the fridge is first turned off for storage.

  2. ) 20210711_133521.mp4 So far, so good. Only a few months of use, but just as quiet as when installed. Here's a short video. You can see how close the camera was to the fan, so kind of (my) head height, standing.

  4. I posted this back in 2018 but was reminded of this again this morning. While disconnecting my hose I noticed my city water female hose connection fitting was loose. The picture below shows the fitting after I removed the strainer/ washer. You need to carry a 1/2 inch hex key (Allen wrench) or you’ll have to use a bolt with a head that fits a 1/2 inch wrench. Just snug this fitting up after removing the strainer/washer. Be sure to replace the strainer/washer after tightening the fitting. Here is the post that I made about this back in 2018. Just disregard the threadjacking in the middle of the original thread.

  5. Hello everyone, I was wonder what the brand name is of the convection oven (microwave/oven combo) that Oliver put is their trailers? Also have any of you done any cooking in the oven (cooked turkey roast, baked potato, meatballs, meatloaf, etc)?

  6. So I wanted to upgrade my cell booster to a https://www.weboost.com/products/connect-rv-65. But after I received it; I was surprised by how big the pole was and the connectors that came with it were really not designed for the side of an Ollie. Here is the life hack I came up with...suction cup handles and zip ties. It worked perfectly.

  7. Their original website was really awful. And, showed a lot of sketchy character, imo. in their videos and outrageous descriptions. I wasn't able to download a lot before it disappeared, but I would never invest a nickel. Imo. I do think competition is good. Always look for advances.

  8. Kampfirekid, We searched for six years, hoping to find a quality trailer that was worth the purchase price. We finally found it, when we saw our first Oliver EliteII in person. I knew it was the trailer for me with just the tour of the exterior. Superior build quality! What a concept in the RV industry. I am 6'5" and honestly, I just fit. I would not want anything smaller and made a few modifications to make it work for me. I replaced the standard interior AC ceiling vent cover with a slim cover, used when the AC is ducted. I can now walk under the AC without hitting my head. I also modified the sleeping area to allow me to sleep on my back at a diagonal. (Picture attached) Andrew

  9. I showed my LE2 to a guy who was your height, he really hated the lack of headroom in the bath. You definitely need to See An Ollie, spend at least an hour poking around and just hanging out, to see if it will work. The “Twin Beds” are actually bunk sized (30” wide”) and you won’t like them, The big mattress would work because you can spread out more. Are you definitely set on a trailer, because there are a couple of $40,000 truck campers that are pretty good. Until you get into the $250,000 and higher range, like the Terranova, anything you buy will have crap propane appliances, with all the headaches those entail. John Davies Spokane WA

  10. John, All tow vehicles have their compromises. As long as you are okay with keeping your weight down, your Touareg will do great towing an Elite II. We tow with a 2018 BMW X5 35d. It has 255 hp at 4,000 rpm and 413 ft lbs of torque at 1,500 rpm. Very similar to yours. Our limiting factor is the carrying capacity at 1,109 lbs. If I recall correctly, yours should be in the low 1,200 lbs. The 1,109 lbs. has been more than enough for us but, we purposely travel light and equipped our trailer to keep the tongue weight low. If you would like to discuss our experience further, please message me your contact information. Andrew P.S. @DavidS from Salt Lake tows with an 2017 gas Audi Q7

  11. They may end up making a nice trailer, but everything they’ve done leading up to it has been sketchy. There is a long thread over on the Fiberglass forums where they are severely criticized for several things, mainly the name Cortes due to his history….

  12. Our bath fan routinely opened while we were driving. Now we use a rolled up microfiber towel (the one we use to wipe things down after a shower) through the handle like Bill does above. Works well. I’ve also been looking for an excuse to replace that noisy fan! Mike

  13. @SeaDawg does the MaxxFan Dome stay closed while underway? This is how we keep the Ventline closed

  14. Ours is vintage 2008. It was originally a single strip down the middle.

  15. Sometimes, the adhesive is inconsistent. I believe it come affixed to the chrome strip, like ez rv gutters. Our bath trim fell off. We replaced it with vhb tape. If I had to do it again, I'd use one strip of vhb, as opposed to the two narrow strips, as being too close to the outer edges, it leaves a tiny bit of gap. https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/4315-bathroom-bellyband-trim-redo/

  17. I would suggest that you consult the Touareg Club Forum for additional info on this subject, they have some interesting comments. However, as is generally the case there are lots of questionable statements. For example, Can you use a WDH? What is the Tongue Weight Capacity, etc? We Tow with a GL 450 (gas), which does a good job. IMO, one of the "For Most Authority on RV Towing," is Andy Thompson at Can Am Airstream in Ontario Can. I suggest you ask him for his opinion, he done the research and testing and "Thinks Outside the Box." Please report back to us on what you find out!

  18. Just what I needed, another item added to the "Honey Do List," at least this one is Inexpensive, Works, Easy to install, and Looks Nice. BTW, I like your "Towel Rack" on the Refrigerator Door, another item added to the List!

  19. That is an odd link to have in the specs for their trailer. Obviously they’ve been doing their research!

  20. Yes - they seem to be well ahead of their ski's . Competition is good for the this - and all industries.

  21. High point in our 2021. We picked up hull 845 on July 2nd and I baked bread in the convection oven 2 days later. It works great.

  22. This Aventa unit has a cooling power of less than 8200 BTU's (2400 watts). That might work fine for an Elite, I'd not try it in our Elite II. Also, it's currently only available in 230 V – 240 V ~. 50 Hz models.

  23. Hi and welcome. You need to tell us what year and which engine, there have been a huge number of different diesels, including the unfortunate VW Touareg V10 Diesel vs Boeing 747. John Davies Spokane WA

  24. That would likely be a good choice, as Oliver already has a good business relationship with Truma. The Truma German engineering is tested in eu, long before it gets here .

  25. The specs say Furrion AC but the trailer in the video has a Dometic AC. Wait and see…. Mike

  28. Steve, if you put a foam noodle around your shoehorn and Velcro it above the door, you’d kill two birds with one stone. Stick a few corsage pins in the noodle and now you’ve got a place for your corsage pins. And another shoehorn.

  30. I just went out and measured our 2021 Elite. The installed flooring is 22" wide. It is 6'-0" from where the cabin flooring starts outside the shower to the edge of the rear bed (when set up in that configuration). To cover that area of flooring with a one inch margin on all sides you would be looking for something that is 20" x 70". Have fun preparing for your new Elite! October will be here before you know it.

  31. It would surely look much better than my gallon of rv antifreeze that I use as a door stop....

  32. I have had excellent success with this product in removing the black “weeping” streaks. I spray it on a soft new clean micro fiber cloth sparingly and it removes the black streaks quickly. I then follow up with waxing the entire area. So far so good. This may or may not work for your application, but worth a try. -Patriot

  33. Apparently my trim got tired. Thinking about just replacing with 3M molding trim adhesive roll. Looks like what Oliver used. other suggestions?
