I drain my fresh tank to 0. On the flip side the max reading is 88% full and that is after 30 seconds of water pouring out of the overflow valve. My gray tank shows 13% after draining. If there is slope at the dump I have gotten it down to 0. As far as the fresh, I just add 12 to the fresh tank readout.2 points

Mine usually reads zero at empty after draining the tank with the low point drain under the curbside bed. The pump starts sucking air at about 13%. I’m not sure I could reach zero with the pump, never tried. My black reads zero easily, but I need to lift my nose at the dump station to get my gray to read zero at level.2 points

Our's never gets empty due to the suction tube being off the bottom of the tank - that said, the SeeLevel indicates around 10 -13% (depending on fore/aft angle) as others have mentioned when the water pump starts sucking air. I can usually drain 4 - 5gal of trapped water under these conditions.2 points

We always fill up the fresh water tank and use the water pump, even at campgrounds. I always have the front of the trailer slightly raised and still experiencing cavitation and it's always at approx. 13% per the SeeLevel monitor, same as @GarryandKristi POST from HOW TO: Fresh water tank suction tube mod - NO SPIN WELDING REQUIRED. thread! I'm hoping it's the SeeLevel monitor that's not accurate, however, sounds like when Garry drained the fresh water tank with front raised, approx. 5gal drained, that's pretty close to 13% of 32gal! I have not checked the water tank level at 13% or done any tests by doing the bucket test, just wonderring what others are experiencing....what is your SeeLevel reading when fresh water tank is empty?1 point

This will be our first year attending. Is there an area we should try to reserve a site in?. I noticed all the cement pads sites were already reserved. Lol. We have a site and figure this year will be our learn to learn about the event. Looking forward to meeting more owners.1 point

Also important to note LGSP use to allow just a 1 day deposit for your site for the following years rally registration. Last year when making our reservations for the 2025 rally, we learned the park changed their policy and now you must be paid in full when you reserve your site for the entire stay at the rally. @MAX Burner great reminder on the military discount. 👍🏻🫡🇺🇸 Looking forward to seeing everyone at this year’s rally! 🇺🇸1 point

Thanks all, mine has never registered 0 using the water pump, like I said it will start slurping around 13% and I have had it perfectly level, and the front slightly raised. Only when I drain the tank will it drain to 0. So I’m thinking maybe the suction tube is off the bottom of the tank. Next time (probably tomorrow/Thursday since it’s shower day) when it starts sucking air I’ll drain it and see how much water is left.1 point

If the sensor is installed correctly and the tank is empty it will read zero percent.1 point

It looks like this thread was started in 2023 but I will put in my two bits. I know people disagree with me but we tow with a 2022 diesel GMC canyon. it has a tow capacity of 7700 pounds. I have loaded the truck and trailer many different ways and have taken it to the cat scales more than you care to know. Ive come close to maxing out the trucks GVW but was still under by 400 lbs. Thats including full fuel me my wife 2 kayaks, tent, 5 gallons extra water a full cooler of ice and food, cooking stove, fire pit,IMG_3990.HEIC one e bike and a regular bike. The trailer weighs in at about 5,600. The truck has no problem towing as far as power and so far braking hasn't been an issue. If I had a bigger garage I might consider a bigger truck but so far we have been very happy. Good luck Bill and Nancy1 point

If you're open to a Suburban are you also open to other SUVs? If so, check out a Land Rover Defender, which comes in three lengths. My LR Defender 90 (the shortest version) is only 15.5 feet long including the tire on the rear gate, and it has a towing capacity of 8,201 lbs and a payload capacity of 1,900 lbs. The longest version, the Defender 130, is two feet longer. There's a wide range in Defender pricing based on trim, but you only need the middle engine offering, a turbo inline 6, to get that towing capacity.1 point

Well, plans change! After deciding this whole conversion project was above my pay grade, I spent some time talking with my local solar company reps about my system. I have run out of battery several times with my old AGM's when camping off grid where the sun was rarely seen. Rain and gray here in the PNW, especially in the shoulder seasons. For my current needs, the 400 amp/hr Victron will have more than 3 times the power available to me compared to my old AGM's. Maybe overkill. But looking to the future where I may be getting a compressor fridge (when my 3 way gives up the ghost) then things start to even out. As far as I know, this is the most power one can pack in to the Elite 1 while maintaining the OEM battery box and tray. I also changed my mind and am getting a Victron inverter/charger. Mostly for the better charging compatibility with the Victron batteries. We'll see how this all pans out. The components are expensive but I believe Victron makes a quality product with stellar representation. Pics will be forthcoming when this all gets completed for Elite 1 owners (and anyone else) who may be interested. Cheers, Dave1 point

Not sure if there have been changes since my 2015 Elite 1 was built, but it has an hot air supply in the bathroom. Even still, a return air vent under the sink makes very good sense. Dave1 point

Y @Steve-Gwenne, you will enjoy a very special relationship with the grandchildren. I know I do. My little grandson is my little buddy. I have the joy of spending 4 days a week, sometimes 5, watching him grow and learn, and play with me. I count myself lucky to be able to experience these days. I'm sure you feel the same. My daughter spent her days with my parents until she was three, and still has so many wonderful memories of those days. Who knows, you may even find that the grandkids enjoy the Ollie as a playhouse, and an early introduction to camping, even if it's just in the driveway, and daytime. (Our daughter loved camping in the boat, as a little girl. ) All the rounded corners, and stovetop closed away, make the Ollie ideal for Littles, with a bit of thought in childproofing outlets, bath door, etc. , imo. If you're not going to camp other than maybe local for the next 18 months, I would definitely not change out the tires now. Cover them. I wouldn't worry about flat spots, as we had to worry about with bias tires and old school radials. Depending on where you live, waxing with a good marine wax twice a year provides a lot of protection.1 point

Took me a minute, GJ! Yes, this only works for those who live nearby and check into their Olivers occasionally. 🤣 Flat spots are not that important on a trailer anyway. You can't notice them when towing and they will smooth out after some miles down the road. May slightly affect the life of tow tires when stored more often than used. The cars/trucks I have in storage get pulled out and moved around every so often (1-3 months). When I used to store for >9 months, I would store on jack stands (along with battery grounds disconnected and Ethanol Shield in the tanks). No real worries re the Oliver over annual winter storage.1 point

Every month or two, you could just use the jacks to lift the trailer, spin the tires and change where the trailer is sitting on each tire. Then put the tires back on the ground, jacks just keeping it stable.1 point

I hope so as I'm a long way from 70,000 miles that I got on my last set of Michelin Defenders. My tire guy at Discount Tire said that this is a old myth from the old tire days. Modern radial tires are much less MORE resistant to flat spots. Just run them slow for a few miles after storage and they even out. Going on seven years and 42,000 Ollie Miles without any tire issues. But I do give them a good look over every year and they only see daylight 3 - 4 months a year. But they are stored in a barn the rest of the time covered. GJ1 point

In regads to the tires, at a minimum (if you are down south) I would buy covers for the tires so they do not see the UV light. With the fiberglass body, keep it clean and waxed unless you plan to buy a cover.1 point

If you have Michelins as several of us do, they are well capable of lasting to the long end of TopGun's range. That means covered as Patriot suggests. If you choose to cover, keep in mind that your trailer is not as tall or wide as most covers are made for. I unknowingly purchased an Adco cover and it was two sizes too large. If you have an OE2, the "box" of the trailer is only 18' X 7' and the height of the box is just over 7'. Shop around and you'll find the "Custom Oliver" trailer covers are quite $$$$. Nice, but expensive for sure. Considering Grand Kiddo's: If I had known they were SO much fun, I would of had them first! Enjoy them! GJ1 point

I would highly recommend if you don’t plan on using your Oliver for an extended time period to consider covering it. The UV and general pollution can take its toll on your gelcoat. I agree with @topgun2 with regard to replacing your tires. Congrats on the “littles” aka “grands”.1 point

2022 LEII #1029 here. been using our Oliver pretty steadily - on our 4th multi-month outing. Currently in Manatee Springs (Chiefland) Florida. Starting having an issue with our Truma AquaGo Comfort water heater. It heated fine, but was noisy with a “thumping” or banging noise when the burner lit. Searching the forums, we found Galway Girl’s post about burner tubes shaking loose, and her description of “popping” sounded pretty close to our symptoms. Luckily, I travel with a lot of tools, so I investigated looking for the loose burner tubes. Nope, all tight and in place. What I did find was a little scary. (See the attached photo.) the nut holding the main gas line to the burner manifold was quite loose. You can see by the soot on the bottom of the burner assembly and nut that a lot of gas was escaping and burning in the wrong place. I tightened the nut up as much as I dared - not wanting to twist the fitting out of the manifold and put the whole thing back together. It now works fine. That said, I’m sure this nut will vibrate loose again, so between now and then I’ll have to think of a fix. Pipe dope suitable for LP is a possibility. Between this and the problem Galway Girl posted - and more than one incident of fires - it seems Truma had (has?) a QC or design problem that could lead to so serious consequences.1 point

The "new" Jason with whom I spoke (after receiving the recall letter) advised that all of the defective burner units were shipped to Oliver, so it is an exclusively Oliver problem. Lucky us! That said, I was able to find Dennis Dillon RV, a Truma trained and authorized RV service center in Boise, Idaho (1.5 hours from our home), willing to do the recall work. That is good, because the closest Oliver dealer is in Utah, a 6.5 hour drive. But, I was also advised that Truma is 6-8 weeks out from shipping the replacement burner assemblies, so all I can do for now is return the recall form to Oliver and wait for a scheduling call from the Dennis Dillon service manager in a couple of months.1 point

Does it really matter? If either of those issues are present, I would want my unit replaced. But that begs the question of "With What?". On that point, I'm in the BoondockingAirStream and Seadog camp. Give me something that works for 20+ years that I can maintain.1 point

Not sure this should function in the way you desire. If playing a DVD through the Furrion, the HDMI out is connected to the TV for picture and the audio channels of the HDMI are played locally through the Furrion speaker outputs (try this to see if you can make it happen). When the input/source is via the TV, broadcast TV or streaming, the Furrion is likely not in the loop and audio out is pushed through the TV speakers. If your TV has output selections which include the Furrion system, this would work, but your TV likely thinks of the Furrion as an input source and NOT an audio output. On a more advanced TV with a HDMI-ARC circuit (certainly NOT this plain OTT OEM system) you could get this working (requires a high-end TV). Instead get a soundbar and connect to the audio out of your TV (connect by audio cables, HDMI, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi).1 point

We too have recently contacted Truma CS regarding cracks developing in the water heater cover. When you call you have go through the menu process and usually wait in a queue for a few minutes, but once you get a representative they are quite friendly and helpful with no push back. With one five minute conversation we had a new cover ordered at no cost, and it arrived promptly in three days. I’ve utilized Truma customer service on three other occasions in the past two years with equally satisfactory experiences. I feel Truma and their products have served us well thus far.1 point

I also recently experienced hairline cracks in the corner the exterior cowling of my Truma cover. I called and spoke withe a super friendly Truma Rep and explained what had occurred and was promptly sent a new exterior cover at no charge for the cover or shipping. I have had nothing short of stellar service from Truma reps with questions or ordering a new cover. I received the new cover in approx 3-4 days via fedex. Our Truma Aqua go came with a 2 year warranty. When we purchased new in 2020 Oliver actually filed our warranty with Truma. This must be done within 6 weeks of purchase. Pro tip 😊- you may want to add your tow vehicle, YM and Hull # to your signature. It will assist members of the forum to help you with questions you may have.1 point

Listing them on Craig's List generally results in your getting $500+ pocket cash. Having the soft start and a really cleaned up and staged for pictures is a great start. But taking a video of it running with a date and shot of your pocket thermometer showing the discharge temperature was what sold mine for above that number. For those not able to read the NHTSA report here's an excerpt of the timeline of events leading to the recall. All new burner units are shipped from Truma with all 8 burner tube tabs crimped. (Ours literally fell apart on the road at one point so I did a self repair of the assembly.) ******* NHTSA Recorded Chronology : 2/17/22 Truma (Steve Bayne) reported during a OEM Baseline review approximately over the scope of 300 units, 8 units (2.5%) have experienced burner issues. Two warranty units with burners coming apart were| picked up during this onsite visit for return to Germany for evaluation. 2/17/22 - 12/31/22 Additional 4 customers reported burner failures. 7/18/22 Oliver request Truma's investigation reports from two units evaluated in Germany. 11/21/22 Truma (Mark Howlett) notified Oliver Travel Trailers (Paul Cameron) Germany made a design|| change to the burner assembly February 2022. Revision included the burner assembly tabs changed from two to all eight tabs folded. Truma concluded the safety features incorporated into the system, risk and severity is low. Safety factors include a) flame recognition sensor b) burner over temp switch and c) the housing contains a thermal event. 11/28/22 Oliver modified the support for the water heater and installed water heaters with only two of the eight tabs folded. On 4-Apr-24 these two units were reported in warrany for burner bracket assembly failures. 2/8/23 - present Oliver has installed Truma water heaters with modified burner bracket assemblies with eight tabs folded, no failures for the burner assembly has been reported to date. 1/3/24 - 7/17/24 Customers with water heaters containing burner bracket assemblies with two tabs folded replaced under warranty experienced repeat burner bracket failures. 11/13/24 Oliver Travel Trailers determined to replace all Truma water heater burner assemblies with two tabs folded to the confirmed eight tabs folded retention feature. ******1 point

My recall letter arrived in the mail yesterday. This will be our 5th year using our Truma and happy to report, we have never experience any problems. Its been reliable and has served us well. We will have Oliver perform the recall and motor on.1 point

There is now a recall from Oliver on this burner assembly. Effected hull numbers should be getting Oliver issued recall letters. ***** text from letter showing SN range of effective water heaters (full letter below) ***** Dear Valued Customer, This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Highway Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Oliver Travel Trailers has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2016 – 2024 Legacy Elite I and Legacy Elite II travel trailers manufactured between April 25, 2016, and February 8, 2023. WHAT IS THE DEFECT? The Truma water heater burner bracket assembly may become loose. **NOTE by Craig - The effected burner assembly tubes were not ALL crimped in place during manufacture, only the ones on each end were crimped. The TRUMA Mfg line has made a mfg line change and now ALL tubes are crimped in place. New burners for the recall will meet this standard.** EVALUATION OF THE RISK TO THE VEHICLE AND OPERATOR(S) RELATED TO THE RECALL. Legacy Elite I and Legacy Elite II equipped with a Truma water heater with a loose burner bracket assembly may allow ignition failures, wire damage, and risk of a brief flame discharge, increasing the risk of a fire. HOW DO I KNOW IF MY TRAVEL TRAILER IS PART OF THE 24V876 RECALL? 1. Find the water heater serial number located on the front cover. (see below) The water heater with serial number less than DLE60C-33096055 is nonconforming. 2. If you are unsure, call 1-888-526-3978 or email us at ottwarranty@olivertraveltrailers.com to confirm that your Truma water heater is one in the population of recalled units for Recall 24V876. WHAT IS THE REMEDY? Your Legacy Elite I or Legacy Elite II was manufactured within the affected period using this component. Your unit must be inspected to ensure the Truma water heater is not within the recall population as identified by the Truma model-serial number. The remedy will be the replacement of the water heater burner assembly, free of charge. The replacement water heater burner assembly will be sent with instructions to complete the installation by a qualified RV technician. The replacement should take approximately one-half hour to complete. Oliver Travel Trailers will cover the cost for the remedy repair. Water heater burner assemblies can be replaced at an authorized service center. WHAT IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY PAID FOR REPAIRS FOR THIS PARTICULAR CONDITION? If you have already paid for a repair that is within the scope of this defect under recall, you still need to have this recall inspected and/or performed to ensure the correct parts and procedures were utilized.
