Santa is on his way. Our old sleigh bells from my uncle are ready. Even though the "little " neighbor girl is now 17, she told us stories tonight about hearing our sleigh bells when she was little. It won't be the same, when we ring them tonight, but I know it will bring a smile. We've deployed them every year for thirty plus years.... sometimes on bike, sometimes on boats, sometimes just crescendo and decrescendo from the space between our homes. She reminded us tonight of her first Christmas next to us, when she heard our sleigh bells, and shouted "I love you Santa" from her window. A decade ago, but still brings smiles to all of us. Merry Christmas, and wishing all of you a very happy and healthy 2023!8 points

Bill, my TST 507 gives readings without needing rotation also. It takes a few minutes to get readings from all the tires so I typically turn it on ten minutes or so before we leave. I haven't needed to install the repeater for the trailer. John4 points

When the bots hit it really didn't take long to see that they had found a way around the usual safeguards that were built into the platform we use. Quickly, Jason (W.) and Matt (D) went into find a solution mode - but - with the holidays not only did they have limited resources at Oliver but the software people at the platform were also down to a skeleton staff. Meanwhile, as a number of members noted, several of the moderator staff were "very" busy playing "whack a bot". That's when it was decided to simply close new registrations through the Christmas holidays and get back at finding a better solution once people were back at work with at least a somewhat "normal" schedule. Since many companies are also giving employees Christmas Monday off (December 26) I assume that any "serious" work in this regard will not begin until Tuesday (December 27). Past experience has shown that these people are very good and I would think that it will not take more than a few days to get to the bottom of what's going on. Certainly, everyone will be advised when we are once again "open for business". Bill p.s. of course, in the mean time, non-members can still see posts on the Forum. They can not see Classifieds nor can they add posts of their own but all other things are available to them.4 points

Greetings All -- On Friday I had the pleasure of showing off my beautiful Oliver to some prospective buyers, who were sent my way by the Oliver team. I highly recommended that they join the Forum to learn more about the options and systems and to meet the community. They really seem to love the Oliver. They have a camper van and have decided to switch gears. Now I see that new registrations are blocked for a while, to deal with Spam and Bot issue. That's all understandable -- but there's no way to ask on that thread (now closed): Is there any estimate of time before new registrations will be allowed? I'd like to let them know. And shame on me for not being online lately. I've been absent for a while! I'm still in recovery mode from Hurricane Ian, and spending a lot of time helping clients and friends who are severely impacted. Thankfully I had moderate damage to my abode, and my Oliver escaped without any damage at all. Merry Christmas to All!2 points

The EZTire TPMS (like this) also does not have to be rotating to read temp and pressure.. Bill2 points

That's a significant advantage of your TSP TPMS! Something to verify before purchasing a TPMS for sure.2 points

My Oliver is/was new but -- I have USAA and they actually work with Progressive for Travel Trailers so I'd follow that advice. USAA rocks. After Hurricane Ian (I'm in the hardest hit area of southwest Florida) I was evacuated by a friend to Jacksonville. USAA worked with me on the phone, and I had my settlement (for a TOTALED new truck) in hand before 3 weeks passed, and was able to replace my truck in Jacksonville. My Oliver had NO damage, because it was stored in a new facility north of me, under cover.2 points

On 12/19/2022 at 4:41 PM, katanapilot said: Or $1500 for the RecPro/Houghton 13.5k heat pump and maybe 4 hours labor? Cheaper yet and you can use the heat function versus propane if you have 120 volt power. The Black Friday additional 15% discount seems to have passed. However the RecPro/Houghton 13.5 K, non ducted, WITHOUT the heat pump is still being sold at a great price. Remember to ask for the 5% new customer discount. Here are their current "No Heat" and their "With Heat Pump" versions prices: NOTES: Be aware that: The one on the left is significantly higher (13 11/16") than the low profile one on the right (9" High). The one on the left is 73 pounds, and the one on the right is 99 pounds. GJ2 points

I think it is. You said in your first post that your batteries were fully charged by the generator. It won’t do that unless you have a bonding plug. Next time you hook up the generator, if your code is not reading E0, try turning off the main AC breaker to see if it doesn’t reset. I’m guessing the system is operating normally.1 point

The TST TPMS we use monitors the tire pressure and tire heat and does not require the tire to be in rotation for a reading. It also works fine on the stationary spare. Patriot 🇺🇸1 point

I don't believe that it was vibration that caused Oliver to take this stance. It has more to do with the exhaust from the generator being drawn into the cabin of the Oliver via the bath window and/or the bath fan or the vent. Bill1 point

We've had our Honda EU3000is since 2011, and added the Hutch Mountain conversion in 2018. What a wonderful combination these make! We bought the generator for occasional power outages (with the consideration of an additional one for pairing if needed.) But have mostly used it for remote use of power tools. We added the pneumatic tire kit to move it since it is a heavy beast. Maybe I can fabricate a tongue for it and tow it behind the Oliver when we get it! 🤪 (Surprisingly, with -5°F temps, -36°F wind chill, and up to 50 MPH winds, we have yet to have our power go out for more than a couple of minutes yesterday. Today, temps are up to zero, but winds are still high. Hopefully our luck holds.1 point

Hey Chris, First off thanks for the kudos! My wife and I both stepped into our trailer while it was running in the gen basket during our shake down and we did not feel any vibration at all and you could barely hear it. Needless to say we are happy. We purchased a hydraulic lift table from harbor freight to initially load the gen onto the tailgate. It works great. From the tailgate to the gen tray we just both lean in, lift and set it in. -David1 point

We opted to roll with a Honda eu3000is Inverter. This past summer, we converted this inverter to Tri fuel (LP,LNG, gasoline), installing the HutchMountain LP conversion kit. I think we paid right at $2400 and change with my military discount at Northern Tool. I don’t have a lot run time since the unit is brand new. We did a shake down here at home this past summer and really were impressed with how super quiet the unit was in eco mode while running our OLE2’s 11.5 btu Penguin. The front quick connect made for an easy fuel source delivery from our 30# tanks. This coming May right before the rally, we are having the 13.5 BTU Truma Aventa AC installed by Oliver Service. Since the Aventa has no easy start available, we are glad we now have the eu3000is inverter. Pros - It’s a Honda and it is really whisper quiet and Hondas have a very long history of being extremely reliable, clean energy, electric start, manual cord pull back up, super easy to maintain. No more carrying, treating or dealing with smelly gasoline. With the LP kit it’s a much cleaner burning engine with regard to exhaust fumes/emmisions. It’s not as portable as the smaller Honda inverters also meaning it cannot be just randomly picked up and stolen. So I list this as a Pro. (Yes I know if someone wants it bad enough, they will figure out a way). Our 1 ton TV cargo capacity can easily handle the weight of this inverter without any concerns. Strong owner reviews of the eu3000is and HM LP conversion kit. ✅ Cons - So yes, it is heavy weighing 130#. My bride/navigator and I can manage lifting this inverter off our TV tailgate into the gen basket relatively easy. It is on the higher end of cost for a generator including the LP conversion kit. A link to this LP conversion - https://www.hutchmountain.com/products/honda-eu3000is-propane-natural-gas-gasoline-tri-fuel-conversion-kit Note- installing the HM LP conversion kit you will loose the Honda warranty since it’s not a Honda product. The customer service at HM is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 in my experience. I highly recommend this company. A link to the Honda eu3000is - https://powerequipment.honda.com/generators/models/eu3000is We also own a Honda eu7000is we purchased new which serves as our home portable back up generator. This pic is actually from yesterdays 3- hour power outage here in Western NC. We rolled out the eu7000is and it just purred along and kept us with all the power we needed to stay warm and continue on. It’s a Honda, super quiet, and extremely reliable in our 7 years of ownership. Edit 4/23/23 We sold the below Honda eu7000is after having a 24KW LNG whole house generator installed. The 24KW LNG standby aka last Jan.1 point

It sure would be grand if Ford had a software upgrade for our "slightly used" F-150's to allow the onboard TPMS to be extended to our four OE2 tires.1 point

I use the TireTracker TPMS system. Using the instruction manual, I found it very easy to program. My TV already had its own TPMS system so I added only the Ollie to the TireTracker system. For those without a TPMS on their TV, the TireTracker system has enough capability to add both the TV and the Ollie.1 point

The Tire Minder TPMS system we recently purchased for the Elite II we picked up on November 10, 2022 was relatively easy to program. It performed well during our 2000+mile journey back to Idaho. With ambient temps ranging from the teens to the 50's F, we noted about a 3-PSI pressure increase from 50 PSI "cold" to 53 PSI "hot" as the tires warmed while on the road. It will be interesting to see what happens when towing in warmer temps, next spring.1 point

Do the new Norcold refrigerator's not run on propane also? I assume you don't have 120 volts where your trailer is stored? You state: "I have everything turned off." I take this to mean the batteries are disconnected from the trailer. Turn the batteries back on, no need for the truck to be hooked up, Turn the refrigerator to propane. It does take 12 volts for the fridge circuitry to function properly. Do this a couple of days before you plan to leave and you'll be good to go. Or, if you have AC power and are plugged in, just turn the fridge to AC.1 point
