  1. Stand'n on the corner.... Here's a shot taken during a MC run thru Winslow a few years back:

  2. I still get quick responses on help from Oliver on random questions on my 2008. The support is second to none. If you're talking mods, well, you've come to the right place. We have so many engineers and mod-oriented folks here, you'll find help and advice here, again, second to none. Some of us just can't help ourselves, when it comes to improving and personalizing our well-traveled and well-loved ollies. Welcome to the forum.

  3. Thanks for posting your final fix/outcome. This really helps other owners should they experience a similar issue. Safe Travels!

  4. Just to put a bow on this one, we ended up having the panel replaced at the factory. That did the trick. Thanks again!

  5. Your best source of experts will be found right here. There's more knowledge and experience among the owners than any other place, including Oliver.

  6. Oliver service will send parts, I’ve asked them for various parts over the years. If you submit a trouble ticket asking about whatever you are planning on doing you will likely get a helpful answer from the service guys. Most owners that do upgrades get their parts from Amazon, RV supply places or elsewhere. There is a lot of experience and expertise on this forum. If you plan on doing an upgrade chances are someone has already done it and can provide lots of guidance and advice. Mike

  8. @burntcookie As previously stated, the level of knowledge, help and support on this forum is outstanding. Lots of experience that is readily shared. We've made several mods on ours and help has always been there. I can't say enough good things about this group - a huge advantage of owning an Oliver that is not really marketed enough! (No, I am not getting paid for this announcement 😄)

  9. I do know an LE2 owner who recently removed his composting toilet and installed the standard black tank. He called Oliver and they gave him the model # and all the information to order the required parts to make it happen. All compost toilet equipped LE1 and LE2s still come with the blank tank from the production plant. It’s a straight forward retro fit if you’re going from Compost to standard toilet. It’s a bit more of an involved install if you’re going from a standard to compost toilet. Also this owner did sell his composting toilet fairly quickly on Craigslist. Welcome to the forum and we are all happy to help out! Ask away! Patriot🇺🇸

  10. You will get ALL the help you need here -- Lot's of expertise in every factor of Oliver ownership and modifications! In the 2 years of ownership of our hull, nearing 10-years-old, I have rewired most circuits in our Oliver, added LiFePO4 batteries, new inverter, solar, DC-DC chargers, motorized water and waste valves, new HDTV and A/V system, more and more... And that's just me. There are 100s of others here who have done every imaginable kind of upgrade, from the artistic to highly technical. Just start reading the pages. 🤣 I like working the mods as you seem to. That's why buying a used Oliver was right for us. We spent less up front, allowing for available funds to make our special changes. One mod post example --

  11. We've had this problem repeatedly in the exact scenario you describe. The "solution" was to open the hot and cold outside shower until the air purged from the system, which could take a couple of minutes. (Don't worry to much about the 2 minute limit. I once accidentally left the pump on for 20 minutes after draining the water from an old trailer and there was no harm done. 3 or 4 minutes is probably OK.) After that we'd be fine until the next stop when we'd have to do it again. Seemed like an air leak on the pump intake side, but I couldn't find one. I recently replaced the pump. One thing I noticed while doing that was that the pump filter didn't seem very tightly screwed onto the pump, something I had never thought to check, so look at that. Now the new pump is in. We'll see what happens next. Also, can you include your Oliver model and model year in your signature line? Makes it easier to help people sometimes.

  13. Try opening a faucet for a few seconds...usually you can hear a change of the pump sound as it primes. Then close the faucet and see if the pressure builds. You may have lost the prime as you traveled.

  14. These are the lights we replaced the lights over the sink and stove. It has a on/off button in the center, blue night light and dimmable light. Box of 4 so I have 2 more if the others fail. We did have a problem with the one over the dinette. I removed the dome, and re-alligned the spring, and we have had no further issues. The key is just a light touch, not pushing on the dome.

  16. OTT is there by phone or entering a service ticket. I've not yet ordered parts from them but many owners do and many also go to them for service and upgrades. That becomes expensive, too far for me, and it's not DIY! The components I've added are Victron (OTT installs Xantrex), Epoch batteries (OTT Lithionics), Samsung 32" M80D 4K UHD Slimfit TV in white (OTT installs clunker 24" TVs in black), motorized water valves (OTT manual valves), Alcan Springs, Timken bearings (OTT Dexter), soon new A/C (not OTT supplied Dometic or Truma products) so there's that too. 🤣

  17. After the day at Devils Tower we road into our campsite and there she was, another Ollie! Only the second time for us, not counting the Q or Texas Rally and there was a 3rd time, but they left early morning without us meeting. Both times the Oliver owner was named Gary. The First time it was Gary from CO at Lost Dutchman and yesterday it was Gary from Harrisburg PA in Hull # 833! Gary wanted to check out my Epoch installation. He has 4-year-old AGMs not holding charge like they used to. I believe we've heard that story before! 🤣

  18. Chris noticed an Ollie coming out of the east entrance of Badlands National Park, as we were entering today at 11:30 AM MDT. I was following a commercial truck and a row of slow-moving vehicles so I did not see her coming. And yes as soon as she said it, there was an Ollie in my sideview mirror as she passed by quickly. Too bad we could not meet up! Our second roadside Oliver sighting to date without meeting the other Oliver Owners, too bad! We're boondocking on the Badlands Wall tonight and on our way out of this amazing NP, I took these pics! 😂

  19. Bob & Barb - I don't really know anything about Truma products - but - If it were mine, I'd unplug and re-plug any of the "control" wiring that you can find. Next, I would turn everything off for at least a minute so that any "memory" functions have a chance to clear (note by "turn off" I mean that these units should have no source of power. So, I would disconnect from shore power and make sure that all breakers are off). Finally, I'd turn things back on and (once again) do the Reset as per the Truma instructions. Hopefully this would "cure" any electron malfunction that may be present. Bill

  20. We had the exact same problem after cleaning our fresh water tank and using it the first time. We had to clean the filter multiple times before the water pressure to the faucets was back to normal. Thanks so much for the advice.

  21. Thanks Ron. I cannot find a similar picture in the CFX5 manual. Instead notice the wording I've highlighted in this picture from the manual. Perhaps it will work as I had wanted, but I will wire a DC switch and fuse and open the DC circuit before plugging into AC when needed. I have both cables inserted as it would be a pain in my installation to reach the plugs day-to-day. Eventually I want a robust DC-only installation.

  22. Actually, a solenoid was installed to trigger power to my suspension air-bag pump when the engine is on. The DC-DC is only powered with the key in ACC ( to power my VIAR) or ignition (engine run) positions. I do know that these Dometics have a staged built-in battery protection system to prevent complete draining of the vehicle’s starter battery. The limit of draw can be set and can allow for deep draw on dual batteries, as I recall.

  23. I use the forward AC outlet installed at the front of the propane housing, and simply run an extension into the van to the Dometic’s AC cord to power via the inverter/battery bank when underway; not during inclement weather, of course. When staged in camp, same setup with shore power. When leaving camp, the extension is unplugged and my 100ah LFP portable power station is then used, which can run the Dometic over 30 hrs without solar input. I modified the DC cord by replacing the cigarette lighter plug with a 2-pin power connector, much more secure connection! My former TV had a dedicated 200W solar array on the bed cap for the power station; installing a larger array on the van is my plan when time allows (you know the gig!). I have a Victron 30A smart charger to maintain the power station, as needed. As a backup, I made a 12V extension that plugs into the rear DC-DC Anderson port to connect to the Dometic’s DC cord.

  24. No, at least not on my model. The CFX manual specifies either a DC OR AC connection, as well as the CFX3 per this screenshot: Check your CFX5 manual, but I would be surprised if they are any different.

  25. Yes...that is what Oliver sent me a few months ago. I like them better. Bezel was difficult to twist off the first time but easy after that. 3 screws and slightly different hole pattern...NO MORE RIVETS...YAY! Good luck John

  26. Anyone use these? I think they are the new Oliver standard. https://www.amazon.com/Homdec-Interior-Lighting-Surface-Dimmable/dp/B097SKPXSC?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=A1CK9LI16C4XW1&th=1

  27. @Roger A few thoughts….The Little Giant ladder has little robust aluminum tabs on each end of the plank that drop down and lock the plank to the Lil Giant ladder rung. If you already have two or three Little Giant ladders you may only need the plank(s). Personally I would not use the plank on a standard ladder where the locking tabs may not engage properly. These locking safety tabs keep that plank from any side to side movement which could result in the plank slipping off the rung. Once set up properly, the system is rock solid.

  28. Our Oliver has been an escape pod for two hurricane evacuations and a winter storm retreat when power was out for several days. Times like these is when our COW (Condo-On-Wheels) and the Westinghouse iGen4500DF are put to good use in survival mode!

  29. Yesterday (June 28, 2025) I was heading West on Interstate 40 and saw a silver pickup with a silver topper towing an Elite II. They were headed East just East of exit 392. Hopefully they were not too delayed by the (ongoing) construction through the Gorge. Bill

  32. I'll be picking one up for sure as soon as I see the price drop a little. I really should have picked one up when they were in the $1,200 dollar range based on the inverter technology alone... One thing for certain, the second I buy one another even more efficient one will hit the market!

  33. A belated Hello to the Oliver who passed me heading west towards Craters of the Moon National Monument, on Sunday 6/15. Idaho plates, I believe — it’s my first time in Idaho and it’s been lovely touring, hiking and soaking in the hot springs on my loop through the Sawtooth Mountains.

  36. We were at Table Rock State Park this week. We saw an Oliver drive by (we were in Campground 2) but it kept going. We had lunch at the Keeter Center, we usually visit there while in Branson. We’ve been to TRSP many times, my grandparents lived in Branson many years, we spent summers there when I was a kid. Mike

  37. Nice! I know of that route. I was not sure if it was a road for 4x4s, or instead a road where you could tow your Oliver all the way down. I'm assuming you pulled your Oliver down to the Colorado! Please confirm quality of the road. Is it some paved, all dirt, OK for towing? Ample level boondocking sites at the river? That's a local trip for us, so we should do it soon. BTW, I can't stand I-40 from Flagstaff to Kingman, the trucks at 75 MPH, steep descents, construction always and bad pavement regardless. I found on this trip that we can get from home to Kingman, a trip I do several times a year, only traveling on I-40 for 7 miles. We take US-89 from Prescott to Ash Fork AZ (47 miles from home) and 7 miles west of Ash Fork you can exit on Hwy-66 and take that to Seligman, up to Peach Springs and down to Kingman. It's a beautiful route too and only adds a half hour to the route.
