JD, I have a piece of plywood that is installed in the backseat on the driver's side. It is level, 50L National Luna. It is strapped down tightly to the seat and also cable locked. I have reflective sheet that I sit on top Plenty of room for our 78 lb lab on the passenger side Plugged into 12v while traveling and I can go 3-4 hours before plugging into shore power. At the campsite I insert a piece of swim noodle cut down the side and installed on the top of the window, and run an extension cord to the shore power post or Olli plug. Boondocking, at night we plug into a Goal Zero 400 Lithium Power pack. We plug in the Goal zero to recharge it. Been doing this for 7 years.3 points

When not using the Anderson WDH, make sure you are also not using the Anderson hitch at all, meaning specifically the ball on the cone. Without the WDH boomerang piece bolted through the bottom, the ball is merely held in place by a snap ring which could fail allowing the cone and ball to come up and off. With a standard ball it is common practice to grease it. Get a rubber cover for when detached before it soils your pant leg! Use any thick grease so it stays put. I use red wheel bearing grease since I have several tubes of it on hand.3 points

The only caution flag I would have with your cooler install is wet weather/ hard rain. I know that the Truma coolers cannot be exposed to rain, likely Dometic has to be the same. Have you thought of a way to protect it from a down pour. You may want to consider the manufacturers insulated cover to help with direct sun also. I know our Truma 36C runs less under our ARE topper in higher temps with the insulated cover installed. I also give the cooling vents on our Truma plenty of space to breath…and cool the unit. Mod On!! 😊 👍🏻2 points

We passed and waved to another Oliver passing through Thermopolis, Wyoming today (7/13). They were heading south on route 20 and we were just turning on route 120 towards Yellowstone. Spending a couple of weeks west of Cody at Buffalo Bill State Park. You folks have a safe trip!2 points

I use some white lithium but to each their own. Here is a good video on it and he even calls out how the Anderson hitch is different than others.2 points

Sad news that the North Rim Grand Canyon Lodge and the Visitor Center have been destroyed by fire. Praying for those that have suffered loss in this tragic fire. North Rim information The North Rim is closed for the remainder of the 2025 season because of losses resulting from the Dragon Bravo Wildfire.1 point

Admin. can you move this post to General Discussion.1 point

There is a touch sensitive control button in the center; touch to change colors, long touch to increase/decrease lighting. Can also be turned on/off by Master light switch to last setting(s). Simple install; a little larger diameter, but mounting holes were same. First install was above dinette, this second above the cooktop. I plan to install additional lights above each bed, over sink and maybe in wet bath under cabinet.1 point

@jd1923 The Progressive unit (for at the pole) has a metal loop so you can lock it to the power pole, so hopefully it is harder to disappear.1 point

The EMS is between your Shore Power Outlet and your 120VAC power panel that holds the half dozen breakers for your A/C, Microwave, 110V outlets, etc. It has nothing to do with the trailer wiring, harness connected to the tow vehicle. The EMS (Electrical Management System) protects against shore power that is wired incorrectly, does not have ground or is at a voltage outside of the proper range. One can be added by cutting the interior shore power cable in two and wiring the device in between. See the attached picture. The device on the left is the ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) which switches between inputs of shore power from the bodyside outlet or the secondary front outlet used to connect a generator in the front basket. The device on the right is the PI EMS that I installed. Some here believe in this redundancy. I believe it's like paying two insurance companies when only one of them will pay the claim. And if the one at the pole reads with good numbers, there's no need to check the one in the Attic. Having one EMS is sufficient. If you do not have one, and do not want to install one, the pole EMS is fine. But I would move the EMS display in a usable location before adding another at the pole, that's just me. I do not want any devices out at the pole like EMS or water filters, etc. I like mine integrated internal to the Oliver which makes for quick and easy camp setup and tear down. The expensive EMS device at the pole have been known to disappear or get lost! 🤣1 point

Interesting, never heard of the EMS and my #70 certainly does not have one installed. @tallmandan sort of figured this is where the 7 pin cable entered into the cabin but did not want to open up that can worms at the time so took the easier route by disconnecting at the exterior plug thanks to @Mike and Carol suggestion.1 point

I’ve always made it a practice to pre-chill the CFX prior to loading content, which are usually pre-chilled, as well, if time allows.1 point

I bought 2 ball covers, but soon found the grease would still get on them. I ruined 2 pair of shorts. My fix is a sealable sandwich bag, which can get a few uses before I replace it. I seal the bag and the grease keeps the bag from coming off will out and about.1 point

I believe that the filter / screen utilizes an 'O' ring for a seal and it's on the low pressure / suction side of the pump.1 point

You can try setting your valves to the normal position, turn your pump on, then turn the valve circled in the picture below 'on' briefly. You will hear water rushing into your fresh tank. What this does is pump water from your fresh tank back into your fresh tank. This will purge the air out of the pump and associated components. This has happened to me many times after traveling and arriving at a site, somehow air gets into the system.1 point

Someone may need to start a thread for all the owners to post their Winslow pics, @HDRider --- what'ya think?1 point

JD, I was looking at these units too. The new ones can have both AC and DC connected at the same time. It automatically prioritizes to AC when the AC is energized, regardless if connected to DC. I personally wouldn't connect it to the DC to DC charger, unless it was a really convenient place to connect the circuit. I'd just run a dedicated fused wire from the battery via a relay that is mounted close to the battery. From there it would be easy to trigger the relay from an ignition-on circuit or a manual switch inside the cab. If your truck has an up-fitter option, you can program the switch to work only with ignition on. Cheers! Geoff1 point

We talked to a young man working at the ice cream place across from the statue. He said on a slow day maybe 300 people take a picture of it. The power of one line in one song!1 point

Yesterday (June 28, 2025) I was heading West on Interstate 40 and saw a silver pickup with a silver topper towing an Elite II. They were headed East just East of exit 392. Hopefully they were not too delayed by the (ongoing) construction through the Gorge. Bill1 point

Another Oliver pulled in River Bend rv park in Montrose Colorado yesterday. The staff said that they have seen four or five Olivers since May! Apparently a popular Oliver campground!1 point

Hello to the Ollie on 101 heading north. It was about noon yesterday and we were about 20 north of Astoria, OR. I flashed my lights.1 point

After the day at Devils Tower we road into our campsite and there she was, another Ollie! Only the second time for us, not counting the Q or Texas Rally and there was a 3rd time, but they left early morning without us meeting. Both times the Oliver owner was named Gary. The First time it was Gary from CO at Lost Dutchman and yesterday it was Gary from Harrisburg PA in Hull # 833! Gary wanted to check out my Epoch installation. He has 4-year-old AGMs not holding charge like they used to. I believe we've heard that story before! 🤣1 point

We were visiting Garden of the Gods just outside of Colorado Springs today and an Oliver from Florida pulled in to the parking lot. After we finished exploring we waited in our truck for about a half an hour and had to leave. Hope you’re having a great trip!1 point

A belated Hello to the Oliver who passed me heading west towards Craters of the Moon National Monument, on Sunday 6/15. Idaho plates, I believe — it’s my first time in Idaho and it’s been lovely touring, hiking and soaking in the hot springs on my loop through the Sawtooth Mountains.1 point

Hope you enjoy the "wall" right outside of Wall (SD). The views (particularly at dawn and dusk) are spectacular! Hopefully it is not too crowded there such that you don't get a spot right on the rim. Bill1 point

Chris noticed an Ollie coming out of the east entrance of Badlands National Park, as we were entering today at 11:30 AM MDT. I was following a commercial truck and a row of slow-moving vehicles so I did not see her coming. And yes as soon as she said it, there was an Ollie in my sideview mirror as she passed by quickly. Too bad we could not meet up! Our second roadside Oliver sighting to date without meeting the other Oliver Owners, too bad! We're boondocking on the Badlands Wall tonight and on our way out of this amazing NP, I took these pics! 😂1 point

We were at Table Rock State Park this week. We saw an Oliver drive by (we were in Campground 2) but it kept going. We had lunch at the Keeter Center, we usually visit there while in Branson. We’ve been to TRSP many times, my grandparents lived in Branson many years, we spent summers there when I was a kid. Mike1 point

I have found the reason the Zamp panels were producing only 2 ah of charge. The detailer cleaned the panels and the cleaning improved the output. He told me that when he cleaned the top of the Oliver he followed up with a liberal coat of WAX. The wax did a good job of preventing the sun to do its job! After the first cleaning, I had him go over the panels with rubbing alcohol. The third cleaning was with vinegar and water. The regiment resulted in 225 watts of power and 12.2 current charge.. I have the Battle Borne 200 Ah batteries. The PV is controlled by the Victron MTTP 150|35. It is a mostly sunny day. That was a great call to review the History of charge. The data clearly indicates that there was little or no charge after I had the Oliver detailed and Solar waxed heavily!0 points
