  1. Today, it's a view of the back yard. Here's a shot from 2009. Ontario. Superior park. Our first trip through Canada with the Ollie. (We have an awning rear window in the older Ollies. ) I wouldn't ever want a trailer without a rear window.

  3. We love the design of the Oliver and being able to back into some great views. What is the view out of your rear window? Please post your pics! Elephant Butte State Park, NM

  4. As a side note, since I've given Oliver a great deal of grief on the forum over this - the wiring and general cleanliness of the hull space on these new trailers is a tremendous step up from where they were a few years ago. Nice. Also @SeaDawg, those photos show the new insulation you were asking about.

  5. I would like to "reserve" a spot as this sounds like a great trip. Distance and lack of cell service is never a problem for us. Put our name down as "coming".

  6. If all of your trailer lights and trailer brakes are working correctly when towing, it’s doubtful that those 4 unattached wires are related to the 7 pin harness.

  7. I just completed my registration for my first ever Oliver Rally this May and my reservation at Guntersville SP. I had no idea until I called the park how full this event would be. It looks like there is great interest which is exciting since the 'Vid cancellation last year! The park has expanded the Oliver blocked loops to include some sites in C, A and B. I was able to get a site in the F loop but I suggest making a reservation soon if you are at all interested! I spent a good number of hours looking at Google Earth, Maps and YouTube videos to make my selection. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and learning more about my ILOVHER! Holler back if you are attending! I'm also heading to the factory immediately after the rally for a few repairs/mods. WhoooHOo!

  8. So I have begun poking around inside the hull to look at wires for adding a Victron shunt and possible installing a DC-DC charger. Are these wires from the trailer harness (7 pin)? 4 of them are not attached to anything. Thanks, John

  9. If the spare sections of PEX aren’t secured, I would recommend that you do that. I have a spare section floating around out of sight in the lower hull. These pictures should be self explanatory, but if not, let me know. I did rework the B+ and B- cables to work with the battery cut off switch, battery + and -, and the Victron shunt. And I will second Overland's suggestion about the hydraulic crimpers. With careful planning, you can crimp new lugs on while the 4/0 cable is on your work bench or while the still in the lower hull. I removed my B+ cable from the main Oliver fuse and the inverter, which enabled me to make up those shorter cables on the work bench all out of the original cable. The Oliver B- cable was moved from the inverter to the shunt and I purchased a new 4' piece of 4/0 and lugs to complete the negative side cables. 11. Sherry, if you’re loaning out Brevilles, then I’d like to get on the waiting list. I promise I’ll treat it well and will return it the moment I can trade it for a newer model. I’d say definitely no problem with the 1800 watt oven, at least when on shore power, but get the 3000 watt inverter option if you’re going to use it while boondocking. Just too close to the limit for the 2000 watt version. But despite what I said above, if the Cadco oven floats your boat, then I’d go for it. If it feeds your passion then you’ll make it work and will be much happier that you did. Personally, ovens don’t interest me, but I do get it - I’m trying to convince my wife right now that logic only dictates that we get a TEC grill for the Ollie. She’s not on board…yet.

  12. If you want to stay near south Naples or Marco Island in your Ollie, Collier Seminole State Park is pretty convenient in south Naples. Well run and clean restrooms. We have stayed there this year and two years ago.

  13. Yes, based on these forms, it was only the ground bonding plug needing to be installed.

  14. From your described specs, I'm thinking avantco 1/4 oven. My guess would be too hot to vent in the microwave compartment, but a really nice size for baking/roasting. Way back in the day, I had a couple of similar pizza ovens, for my restaurant and catering. They were ok. I probably still have one, somewhere in the archives. Overland really nailed the whole commercial resistive oven deal. Commercial gear is (usually) easy to clean, simple to use, and relatively sturdy. But high emissive heat, very simplified, and somewhat to grossly inefficient. Everything in my commercial kitchen line was poorly (if at all) insulated, pricey, and heated the kitchen tremendously. So bad, that none of us wore jewelry on the line, though that was mostly gas equipment. If that's the oven you're looking at, I'd worry (a bit) about the gasket, and the glass door, since you're moving around. Probably no thermostat or reliable timer. I have three air fryers at home, three sizes, three brands. (Goldilocks, right?...) I have cooked/roasted/baked/fried so many things in all three. They're basically mini convection ovens on strroids/turbo mode. Everything from the typical wings and fries, to homemade muffins, quiche, and meatloaf, ratatouille, chicken parm, pork chops etc., etc. If you want something to tote around, I'd look at a Breville smart convection oven, or an air fryer that you may already own. (I could possibly loan you one. 🙃 But, two of my three are on loan right now, to a cousin and my daughter. ) I haven't seen any great reviews on convection microwave/air fryer combos, or I'd probably own one of those, as well. I'd love that functionality. Another year or two, and someone will get it right.

  15. The maps website works well in Safari, so you might try that. It looks like your signature is empty, so I think you just didn't get the link pasted in and saved.

  19. We have our Ollie parked at Hideaway Storage of Naples on Progress Ave near Naples Airport. I worked the deal out with the manager Chris. $20 per day cash. No paperwork. I think we will be ok. We parked the Ollie yesterday and will pick it up on Sunday before we head north toward Venice. Lots of rv, boats and trailers, over 200 spots. Also saw 3 Airstreams. We are stored outside on the middle of the lot. There are a number of class A Pushers stored there. 6 cameras. Seems like an ok area. They are busy and I arranged this in April. Tell Chris you have a trailer like Matt from Maine. We found getting temporary storage challenging.

  22. Gee - 90 minutes from Denver doesn't exactly put this site in the middle of a metropolitan center and being retired I actually look for places with little to no cell service. My "normal" schedule of fishing for a couple of months up in Wyoming, Montana or Idaho would couple very well with a mini-rally during the first or second weekend of September and that kind of time frame would get the rally well away from any conflict with the Oliver Owner's Rally in May. Anyone that is still working either full or even part time would likely have a long weekend over Labor Day (September 5, 2022). Bill

  23. Also in E Loop, made reservations for 4 nights, starting on the 18th but may change that to the 19th once I see the actual schedule of events.

  24. Were it me (and it's not), I'd probably opt for the solar pro, and see how it goes. Lithium prices keep dropping. You can always add them later, if you actually need them. Depending on the weather, (cooler temps), you can actually turn your gas fridge off for a few hours, if it's cold and full, and be fine, instead of running the 3way on 12v, if your solar doesn't keep up. We used to run ours on propane, traveling, when we had a 3way. (Unless in areas required by law to turn it off.) A 3way is least efficient in 12v. In our case, in the days when we still had a 3way, 200 watts solar, two 12v agm 105 ah batteries, we couldn't keep up running on 12v.

  25. We have a Twin bed EII with KTT Mattresses. Here's the idea we implemented for use of the twins as couches. We added 6 new cushions (3 on each side) with a firmer density foam acquired at a local foam shop. The shop had references for local boat upholstery folks...and we had one of them make up the cushions. 6 - Daybed rectangular back cushions - 25” W x 11”H x 4” Thick Those dimensions just tuck under the window frames snugly. Here's a picture of the end result. We wanted 3 on each side so we could lean against them when watching TV. If we aren't using them when we sleep they stack up nicely on the dinette seats over night. We've actually found the side cushions useful when sleeping. They give us back support if we turn our back to the cushions, and also are extra insulation in cold weather.

  26. Good omen! And welcome to Oliver Ownership. If you're looking at items that many other Oliver Owners have used for their Olivers, check out the Oliver Trailer Outfitters guide on Amazon. Each item has a comment about it in the upper right of the picture. Many of the comments are about Oliver specific use and fit. 27. Sorry to hear of your fire. I, too, had a truck fire 3 years ago when my 2012 Ford F-150 caught fire just as I backed it into the storage unit that we rented at the time in Montana. The fire ended up burning the entire building and destroyed all of the contents that were in it, not only mine but of the other tenants as well. I’m guessing the total losses were around $10 million. Although the cause of the fire was inconclusive, I believe it was related to my truck’s air conditioner blower motor. I also have State Farm insurance, and they were very fair with me in handling my claims, which totaled over 900 items, including an RV, truck, boats, ATV, utility trailer, and numerous personal items, etc. I never retained an attorney, although State Farm had/has retained one on my behalf, and they are handling the multiple lawsuits that resulted from the fire. If you do decide to replace your truck and buy a new one, there are some pretty good deals to be had if you’re not in a hurry and can afford to shop around. For example, one dealer in Iowa is presently offering to sell new Ford trucks ordered from the factory at 3% below dealer invoice, with anticipated delivery times of around 3 months, depending on the model ordered.
