Deposit paid and now the great wait begins! We are first time camper owners, but Oliver aesthetics, build quality, and sense of community won us over. So excited to be a part of the Oliver family. While we patiently await our unit's delivery, help us pass the time by sharing your best trip tips or favorite Amazon find to make getaways go smoothly - please post in the thread! We look forward to hearing from you. -- CJ & Diana & Chopper (the Australian Cattle Dog) Elite II w/Twins Composting Toilet Truma AquaGo Powered Awning - Street Side Convection Microwave (duh) Solar Package (still deciding which one) Outdoor Pro Package8 points

I brought my dog when I took delivery. The Oliver folks were adamant that I bring my dog inside the showroom and delivery area with me when filling out paperwork and doing my inspection. They are obviously dog lovers. I stayed at the Oliver campsites the night of delivery. Nothing was said to me to indicate that dogs were not allowed.3 points

@nrvale0 Thank you for starting this thread! We just became proud and excited owners of "Ollie 'n' Free", Hull 1007, 2022 Elite II. We started many years ago in a Lance camper, upgraded to a Class B+, then 32 ft Tiffin, but we love our Ollie best. However, I have been stressing about storage and reading your thread has relieved by my stress partly by presenting me with new ideas and partly reminding me of my army days when field exercises required me to pack for 2-3 week "camping trips". Everything you would need had to fit into 1 duffle bag and 1back pack!!!! Until I started looking for storage solutions for Ollie, I had forgotten all about rolling and packaging my clothing. Hubby is very particular/careful about attaching/screwing things into any wall so nano-tape and silicone fixtures info on this thread have helped immensley. My sincere thanks to you for starting this conversation and all of the Oliver owners who have contributed to it.3 points

Have you watched any of the factory tour videos? If yes, then he may not be blown away, but if not, then he definitely will be flabbergasted. This video is a very good substitute for an in -person tour. Oliver Trailers - From the Ground Up ⬆️Factory Tour (181) If you are RV newbies, you should first watch some factory tour videos from “stick and staple” builders. That will make the effect of the Oliver plant extra special. John Davies Spokane WA3 points

I use 6x6 wood blocks to lessen the distance the jacks have to travel and provide some protection against driving off with the jack all the way down. While a bit heavier than the plastic blocks, the wood blocks are a touch smaller and they are very inexpensive - free if you keep your eyes open. While there is no harm in using a second SP, I do not use anything other than the one that was built into my Oliver. It has worked well over the years. I use water from home or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes. Water from the onboard fresh water tank is filtered and sanitized (via a blue Camco filter) a couple of times during the camping season. But, I only use that water from the fresh tank for bathing, washing dishes, etc. Also, I use the Andersen leveling ramps for side to side leveling. I used to use the "lego" blocks (and I still carry one set of ten just in case) but the Andersen ramps are much easier to use - particularly when traveling alone.3 points

I use a wood block under the tongue jack, it is some 40 years old, I guess I just don't want to part with it over the years of use. I use the red leveling pads on the rear jacks, sometimes 1, some times 5-6, just depends how long I want to hold the stabilizer switch down. I guess what you use depends on how much room you have to carry this stuff around, since we use a full size crew cab pickup room is not really a problem. Personally I like the wood over plastic, I do think the wood has a better bite for slipping over plastic, just from my experiences. I get all me leveling stuff in one large milk create (leveling blocks jacking blocks, and stabilizer pads) and carry it in the bed on the truck, so far no one has stolen any of the stuff in some 40 years of camping. trainman3 points

Thanks for the advice! Oliver II hopeful. We are currently driving an F-150 2.7 Eco Boost. GVWR 6600. It will probably be a while before we get an Ollie unless my husband is blown away during the tour which is what I am hoping for. Nancy3 points

I just completed my registration for my first ever Oliver Rally this May and my reservation at Guntersville SP. I had no idea until I called the park how full this event would be. It looks like there is great interest which is exciting since the 'Vid cancellation last year! The park has expanded the Oliver blocked loops to include some sites in C, A and B. I was able to get a site in the F loop but I suggest making a reservation soon if you are at all interested! I spent a good number of hours looking at Google Earth, Maps and YouTube videos to make my selection. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and learning more about my ILOVHER! Holler back if you are attending! I'm also heading to the factory immediately after the rally for a few repairs/mods. WhoooHOo!2 points

Storage initially looks like a challenge. But, we’ve found it easy to pack for a couple of months without sacrificing much. The only exception is when we’re going to be in warm weather and then cold weather, we’ll carry a large Tupperware in the back seat with winter clothes. We can fold what we need and store in the overheads plus some hang ups in the closet. The closet is large for the size of the trailer and can hold lots of stuff. All in all, over the years, we’ve found that less is more. We always have the same discussion on the way home about “why did I pack this?” Or “why did we bring that?” We carry fewer kitchen items and fewer clothes. The truck is the same, we’ve gone from an overloaded Tacoma to pretty full half tons to a 3/4 ton with excess space. Mike2 points

Congrats on the new rig! Glad you found the thread useful. Please make sure not to miss the Shower Beer section. 😉 I'm no longer full-timing and about 2 weeks ago I emptied the trailer while doing some routing maintenance. It took like 3 days to organize all of the junk I had been carrying in the Oliver for full-timing. Some of which I had put in there the first week I rolled out, never used, and then prompty forgotten about until I hauled it out again. So that's a data point at least. 😉2 points

We just use the blue Camco water filters. I have a Culligan that had replaceable cartridges but I’ve found that it is a pain to use, especially if you are just wanting to fill the fresh tank. So, we went back to the blue filter but the jumbo size. We don’t have an on board surge protector so we use one at the pedestal. It’s worked well the last 6 years. I don’t know how a pedestal protector would work with the on board system, maybe someone who has done it knows. I made some blocks, similar to Bill’s above and use them on top of the big yellow/black legos to keep jack movement to just a couple of inches.2 points

The tour is great! We watched multiple YouTube tour videos before we went this time last year. It helped me focus on the areas I wanted to focus on. Enjoy it!2 points

if the factory tour doesn't convince him - nothing will. Be sure to take a bunch of pictures and ask a bunch of questions. And - have fun! Bill2 points

Preface - we are newbies, less than one year of experience, but this is what we have done in reference to your questions. Blocks - we use the orange plastic lego blocks - the bright color helps me to not forget them LOL - they work well for us. We got 2 sets of 10 and some extra caps. We can store them easily in our tote. So far, so good. Surge protector - we use an additional surge protector. Looking at the specs of the Progressive Dynamics one provided, there are some better options, IMO. While we went with the 30A Surge Guard Portable Total Electrical Protection 34931 from TechnoRV with the remote display option, If I had to do it again, I think I would go with the Power Watchdog Surge Protector with Bluetooth - Portable - 30 Amp. I would prefer the Bluetooth to a separate display. For water filters, we decided to actually drink water from our fresh water tank. As a result, we likely went overboard on our approach. We use Purogene to sanitize the tank annually (vs. bleach) and add a tiny bit (1/3 oz) when we fill up our fresh water tanks. The actual filter we used is US Water Puredge Ultimate RV Filter - it fits in the basement during travel and sits in a milk crate when in use. Since it's filters are a bit pricy, we also use the clasic blue filter seen everywhere to help extend the life of the US Water filter. I am sure you will get lots of good input from much more experienced folks on the forum.2 points

We are excited for you! We were in your shoes one year ago - first timers as well. We had a blast researching all the options, deciding which ones we wanted. As topgun2 mentioned, the content on Oliver University is great. Lots of great YouTube channels as well. While I was more the researcher, my bride is more the hands-on learner and she was "cramming" some of the Oliver University videos as we drove up to pick up our trailer - LOL! Either approach, it's a wonderful exciting time - enjoy the wait - it will pass oh so quickly!2 points

p.s. Remember - the registration process is a TWO STEP affair. First get a campsite. Second register as per the above with Oliver for the actual Rally. Bill2 points

Welcome! Start reading and viewing videos - here in the Oliver University and on YouTube. Best tip - simply use it. Enjoy the journey as much as the destination. Bill2 points

Access to the plumbing controls with the mattress and bedding is most definitely a major PITA. As is getting to the valve to drain your fresh water tank... and NO.. I have never been successful reaching that from the access port. So here is my solution: Push the mattress up and then use the hatch door to prop and keep it up. Then you can change the valve configuration to take on water. When you're done change the valves back, replace the hatch cover and drop the mattress. Not exactly what you asked for but it's been working for me. Good Luck and Happy Camping.2 points

Time is running a bit short! If you register for the Owner's Rally prior to March 1st, the rally fee is $100 per person. If you register for the Owner's Rally after March 1st, the rally fee is $120 per person. Also, if you visit the 2022 Owner's Rally site - click on "Home" then Owner's and then "Annual Rally" - there is a rough event schedule showing some of the activities and scheduling. If you have questions - ask away! Bill2 points

My wife and I are excited to be attending as well. We will be picking our new Ollie on April 29.... and after a few shake-down days the Rally will be our first event! What a great place to watch, listen and learn from those that have done this for a while. I'll probably be the guy that is always waxing his Oliver in spare moments.2 points

Hey, all. Prepping to go full-time after my Elite II pickup in late April. I have a spec sheet provided by Oliver which has measurements but perhaps someone can share pictures of the various storage cubbies in their E2? The ones on the site really just show the doors of the cubbies but not the shape + contour of things inside. Even better if this prompted a discussion here from folks who have advice on what they've settled on for dividing/organizing the various storage cubbies. Nothing exotic planned for storage needs on my end: clothes, dishes, and similar. Thx!1 point

No direct knowledge but... Have heard that autoformers are frowned upon in some campgrounds because they pull the power from other sites. Heard it on the internet so it must be true. Might want to consider that... Good Luck.1 point

Activities can vary and are usually different from rally to rally. Hopefully there will be some vendor presentations and some presentations by Oliver. There will probably be some displays. In the past there have been recreational things like zip lines and golf. Like Bill said, there’s usually something for everyone. Plus, there should be some social events and time to get to know fellow owners and some of the Oliver staff. The park itself is very nice, there’s a nice golf course and the lodge is a great place for group meals and get togethers. Mike1 point

Share and Enjoy !Shares As many of you know, in the fall of last year, we moved into our new Sales & Service Center located at 228 Industrial Ave., Hohenwald, TN. Since moving into our new Sales & Service Center, all customers receiving service work were allowed to use our electric hookups at our old sales office located at 737 Columbia Hwy in Hohenwald. We have now completed our campsites at our new Sales & Service Center. Beginning September 1, 2021, we will allow customers who are getting service work and all new deliveries to stay at our new campsites adjacent to our new Sales & Service Center. Our electric hookups at 737 Columbia Hwy will no longer be available for use beginning September 1, 2021. Our new adjacent camping area features seven individual campsites with water, 30 amp electric hookups, and a dump station. Due to the limited number of campsites and increased customer volume, staying at our campsite is by reservation only. Since we are delivering one, and in many cases two, trailers per day, all new deliveries will be automatically reserved for only one night in our campsites. If you wish to stay longer in the area, you must make reservations at one of the other local campgrounds. If you have or are planning to schedule service at our facility, please let us know if you need an overnight reservation for one of our campsites. To make reservations, please call us at 1-888-526-3978 during normal business hours of 8 AM to 5 PM CST, Monday thru Friday. Having our campsites adjacent to our new Sales & Service Center will better serve our new and existing customers. We look forward to visiting with you when you come to see us for service or at the delivery of your Oliver! I'm a newbie too -- don't have my truck or my trailer yet. Since I was shopping the truck with the trailer already set in my heart, I had great advice and suggestions through my Oliver Sales members. Since that time, I've discovered this forum and the many excellent members who provide so much great advice. A LOT of it is already organized -- I'm still learning where to find information about topics, whether on the Oliver website or here in the forum. My tour wasn't at the plant but here in Florida, and it blew my socks off. After drooling over the website photos and videos, the in-person tour with owners model really did put the cherry on that float!1 point

We use the red stacking leveling blocks. Easy to use and they are light. Link is: https://www.campingworld.com/stackers-leveling-pad-78796.html?cgid=levels-leveling-systems Have not used an additional surge protector BUT... I ask about the quality of power when checking in and keep an eye on it when hooked up. You can get sketchy power in a lot of campgrounds. Camco water filter works well: https://www.campingworld.com/camco-evo-premium-water-filter-56670.html Good Luck1 point

Welcome to the forum! You’ll find forum members that use each of the options you mentioned. We use the Andersen jack blocks (the big red bucket style) under the stabilizer jacks. They’ve worked well but take up a lot of space in the truck bed when not being used. And we use the Camco yellow Lego type blocks under the wheels for side to side leveling. And I built a two stage water filter system into a milk crate.1 point

Welcome and happy to hear about your upcoming Oliver! There are a lot of us that are first time trailer owners and we’ve all learned a lot in a short amount of time. What kind of camping are you most interested in? Commercial parks, National and State Parks, no parks? You’ll get lots of advice and knowledge here. Mike1 point

@CNC, I did not see your post before submitting mine. Your description caused me to look again at the regulator, and I noticed the regulator connects to the safety valve via an adapter, one end of which is ¼" NPT and the other end is the odd size used by Champion on the two ports the safety valve. I believe you have solved my problem. I can now connect a female ¼" NPT quick connect to the safety valve by using the adapter previously used to connect the regulator. The solution is embarrassingly simple. Thanks!1 point

Out of curiosity I Googled whether a separate regulator is needed for a Champion dual fuel generator connected to an RV propane outlet. I found this web page: https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f7/tips-for-running-dual-fuel-generator-on-propane-62240.html As I read this, you will need a different set of hoses to run the generator from a quick-connect outlet. For me, this has confirmed the decision to run my Champion generator from a separate propane tank. I will only have to haul one hose set. Hope this helps.1 point

Indeed so, Dewdev. They ran sessions in many other regions from last July (when I first posted) til this month. Our friend got the impression that it has been very successful and well received, and probably will be continued next spring or summer. For anyone outside the southeast, probably best to keep an eye on their website.1 point

The basic answer to your question is - NO. Unless you want to make modifications to the fiberglass of the Oliver as ScubaRx mentions above. Bottom line is that it is usually cheaper and certainly easier to simply use the Andersen. Bill1 point

I waited until recently to reserve a site at the park since we weren’t sure if we could attend this year. We’re in section G, we’ve been in section E the last few rally’s. Variety might be good! Mike1 point

Note that registration for this rally is a two part affair. The first part would be to get your reservation for a campsite - you do that by contacting Guntersville SP. The second part is to register with Oliver for the rally itself. Bill1 point

I tow with a full fresh tank mainly to have water available on the road and especially if we’re going to dry camp. I also tow with various levels in the gray and black (except when we’re starting a trip). Sometimes you can’t dump until you arrive at the next location or somewhere on the road. To be honest, I’ve never noticed any real difference with full tanks, empty tanks or partially full tanks. After dry camping, the fresh tank is less, gray and black more. I think it is a testimony to the Oliver design of flat tanks positioned well. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it. Mike1 point

I'm loading up our trailer for the first trip of the season. This will be the twelfth season for the Target bathroom organizers that I use in the kitchen. Those suction cups have held up really well, but may have to replace the cups next year. We keep flashlights by the bed, and by the door, on velcro. Sherry1 point

We've been full timing in our Oliver since Nov of 2017. Here are some pics of storage solutions that work for us. It took a while living in the Ollie to really determine how we would use the space so I would caution you to give yourself some time.
