  1. To Oliver Owners and Valued Customers, As committed to several weeks ago, the Oliver Travel Trailers business owners and leadership team have discussed at length internally, with our dealer partners, as well as with Oliver owners and potential customers, the subject of continuing to offer service here in Hohenwald, TN. Oliver Travel Trailers has decided to leave our service facility fully operational for the foreseeable future. Oliver Travel Trailers remains committed to supporting and training our dealer network to provide exceptional opportunities to purchase and get an Oliver serviced as close to home as possible. The Oliver sales and service team remains available to assist with any needs or questions that you may have. Once again, Oliver Travel Trailers truly values the relationships we have with our owners, potential customers, and business partners. Thank you for the feedback and continued support. I look forward to seeing many of you at the Oliver Owner’s Rally in May. Best, Rodney Lomax Director of Operations Oliver Travel Trailers Sales & Service

  2. Oliver moved north to Parowan Gap. Picture taken returning from our day outing when we could first see the campsite from Gap Rd. If you can see Ollie in the first pic, you have good eyes! Zoomed in on the second picture.

  3. I love this announcement. It bolsters my faith in the company. First, let me say that because I live in California it's unlikely that I would be able to use the service center unless I happened to be nearby and happened to need some service. My distance from OTT has caused me to learn how to do things myself (thanks forum!) or get help from someone out this way. Nevertheless, I've been concerned by some of the recent developments with the company. My first contact with the company was way back in 2016 when I called to get information and spoke to Heather Oliver. Very cool. Then I met Anita in the old office and got a factory tour. Wow. It was clear that this family owned and operated company made the best quality trailer in America, and I wanted one. Yes, change can be hard, and yes, a business that doesn't grow is bound to die. But this announcement softens some of my concerns and shows that the company is listening and places customer satisfaction as a top value. Rodney's message is a good vibe. (you'll have to excuse me, I'm from California! lol.)

  9. If you have a meter, you can check to see if the fan is getting power. You'll be touching the power plug with the meter leads, so be careful not to short out or you will blow the fuse (assuming it's not already blown). If it is getting power, then the fan probably needs replacing. We had this happen to ours early on in the toilet's life. Nature's Head responded very quickly with two fans (no charge, and I did not ask them for a spare). I replaced it and have not had a problem since. Now I have a spare, and will order another if it ever gets installed.

  12. We also use Progressive but the coverage is "Agreed Value" which basically means we said we want it insured for a specific dollar value. We're the second owners and set the value at what we have into it so it wouldn't replace it with new but we would get our money out of it which works for us. Coverages can vary by state though and may not be identical based on your state of residence.

  16. So sorry for the damage. One of my worst fears is doing what happened to you. We all, or most of us get carried away and make a mistake. My better half has stop me a couple of times on the steps. We setup camp in a pouring rain last week. No checklist, just pumped through it to get out of the rain. I know it is small and minor, but we forgot to turn the fridge back on. 36 hours later the fridge was at 52 degrees and the freezer section was at 30 degrees. First thing out of my wife's mouth was we are getting to lax and need to be at least checking our work with the checklist. Thanks for the saftey reminder, we all need it!

  20. This is a LOCKED thread. I wanted to put all my links in one spot so that they are easy for folks to find. Search remains a real problem with this forum! This thread does not allow comments. If you have questions, find a dead link or just want to talk, you can comment on the appropriate thread, or start a new thread or just Message me. I will add to this page as I start new threads, so hopefully it will continue to be a good up-to-date reference. NEWEST POSTS ARE AT THE TOP. I am not going to bother to alphabetize them, LOL. I put a link to this page in my signature, so you can get here directly from any of my comments. 26. Yep, such countermeasures are not compatable with wind sensor auto roll up systems. Gotta pick your poison. This one works for us: "Leave, roll-er-up" seems to work every time. For this purpose, I consider sleeping or not in use is the same as leaving. GJ

  30. The rod and washer on our Hull #1291 are not rusted either, even though they have been wet many times. They appear to be galvanized steel. Makes we wonder if Oliver recently received a batch of poorly galvanized rods and washers. I concur with Topgun's recommendation: send the photos to Oliver Service via a service ticket, and request a replacement rod, washer and cotter pin.

  31. Full Disclosure: Actually noticed these "Antlers" as a nice mod on @Patriot's rig in a post where he described his new front storage box made by SeabiscuitMetalDesigns.com... After installing our DC/DC charger which requires a substantial 1/0 Anderson connection and cables, our front hitch area seemed to be getting "crowded." The Moose Antler addresses the mess of cables, chains, clips, hooks, etc... They actually look like antlers - and do a great job in getting your hitch kit off the ground and tucked neatly and tidy under the A-frame: Moose Antlers.mov The PITA was removing the 7-Pin plug and the DC/DC Anderson connection to route the cables through the holes in the lower area of the antlers. The rack is made of approx. 3/16" powder coated T6061 Aluminum - no moving parts. If interested, you'll need to head to Home Dumbo for a U-bolt to fit the rack onto the hitch strut, $4.65. Simple design and efficient - we're liking it! Cheers! Moose Antlers.mov

  32. We got our LE2 with the bike rack mount and realized we will probably always carry our folding Ebikes in the back of the truck under cover. With that understanding we decided to add a cargo tray and locking box for general items needed for setup, and camp site necessities. Obviously weight is a critical factor so with the tray, box and gear inside we are shooting for less than 200# total. I'm sure we have succeeded after adding up the weigh of all items. The most difficult part is making the extended rails for the tray to mount on. I used the same T6061 aluminum that Oliver uses on their frame members. It's available in small sizes at local metal supply houses such as Metal Supermarket. The aluminum tubing drills and cuts easily with carbide woodworking tools. Use a little lite oil on the blade to keep the aluminum from fowling the blade. You must use good eye protection when cutting. I copied the way the bike rack rails were machined. Here's the results of the project: We have pulled the camper a couple times for local camp outs and the weight of the addition is completely unnoticeable while towing. The box is well made but light weight with locking double latch system. It has a double layer of aluminum in the lid and is foam filled to keep the contents from heating up too much in direct sun. The whole thing is very sturdy and at 220 pounds I can stand on the box lid to see the top of the camper with no effect to the box lid. Good traction and very solid. The softener tank is mounted with a tank wall mount and strap and is set up with quick connects and the standard hoses hook up in just a minute. The softener comes with a regeneration kit and it takes about an hour to perform a regeneration using a box of table salt. It will last up to 2000 gallons of water depending on the mineral content. No need to remove the tank for regeneration, just connect the kit to the external QD fittings and run the process. When done, you are good to go for a few more camping trips. No more hard water scale or rust on pluming fixtures. Remove the tank for winter storage inside the garage. I'm very pleased with the overall project. The box can be removed just as the bike mount is removed for spare tire access. You can actually access the spare without completely removing the tray assembly, Just slide it out about 6-8 inches and the cover and tire are removeable. I bought a self lit license frame and mounted to the back of the tray. I added a plug connection to the license light wire to power the new license plate light. I wanted a removable connection for obvious reasons. The connection is mounted on the lower part of the spare tire cover under the original license bracket. The old license plate bracket is still useable if the tray and box are removed. 33. Last weekend we went to Art in the Park at Blowing Rock NC as we do every year, but normally it was in May, June, or October in our Aliner pop-up at Julian Price CG on the BRP. This time we decided to try July in our almost 1yr old Elite I (Hull #1209). We caught the peak of the Catawba Rhododendron bloom. We were in the clouds, a good bit of the time but 10-15 degrees cooler than the 90 degrees when we left home in East TN just 90mi, a couple or hours away.

  35. Help, I posted before my microwave quit working so I got a Toshiba replacement, same size, same wattage etc. The problem I have is removing the old microwave. See pic. I cannot pull the power cord plug through the over head cabinet. Anyone have any ideas? I don't want to cut the power cord (even though the microwave is not working) because I will have same the problem pushing the new microwave power cord through to the outlet in the cabinet above. I could take the cover of the microwave and disconnect the power cord and pull it through for the bad microwave and then again for the new one. Anyone got any suggestions? I wonder how did the Oliver people get the power plug through in the first place.

  36. Things have stabilized a bit here so we decided we could get out for a long weekend. It's the first time we've left on a trip by pulling Eggcelsior out of the new garage. To make it easier to do the pre-trip checklist, I decided to pull the trailer out of the garage first. BIG mistake. The steps were out. The steps caught the bottom of the door frame as I pulled out, split the sill plate, pulled the wall out, and trashed the garage door rail. Not much damage to the Ollie. Bent the bottom step so it wouldn't fold up. Our friend the builder came right over and said he could fix the garage easily while we were gone. A combination of a hand sledge and metal file got the bottom trailer step back in line enough to fold, so we actually made it to our destination today. The garage wall is back in place, the garage door is closed (but off one track until a new track is installed), and the Oliver steps fold again (but are a little beat up). Moral: run your checklist before you move your trailer for ANY reason. 😢
