  1. I’m in the ‘full tank’ camp, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it! Also carry a LifeSaver Jerrycan and case of bottled water.

  2. Like @jd1923, @Patriot, and others - we keep our Oliver on the premises so it's little hassle to "keep things just so." We will rarely fill the fresh water holding tank with "city water" of unknown pedigree. That said, we sanitize the fresh water system 2x annually and travel with a Berkey water filter for drinking purposes, FWIW.

  3. Don't leave home without it! 🤣 Our first night out is never at a campsite and we like to boondock half the time. Fresh tank always full and our aux 35-gal tank in the truck bed is always full!

  4. @PMG Here is an entire thread dedicated to Oliver fitted linens. AB Lifestyles sells really nice sheets and mattress covers. And they are made in SC. 🇺🇸 Link - https://www.ablifestyles.net/?network=x&device=t&keyword=&campaign=19268043787&adgroup=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADm2yp4cMuAEZ67SUe_ub0u2nBxZ6&gclid=CjwKCAjw5Ky1BhAgEiwA5jGujjzxYHIsK_sqyIdIkTJqG89-YZJtvD-Kkydur9S87fAEcjd0kA2xrBoCT0wQAvD_BwE

  5. @aaronorange; We always top off at home prior to departing. We have filtered and conditioned well water from our property and the Casablanca really likes it. No build-up in Pex and at points of usage. We also carry 2 x 6-Gal water jugs filled with house H2O in the TV and use the boondock water pump mode as needed - on short 3 - 5 day trips we do not connect to water bibs. FYI... Hope this helps out. Cheers!

  6. Our SL mini arrived today. Very impressed with the ease of a 10 minute set up including PW and latest updates. I think this will do the trick for us as far as comm goes. It even fits down in my Osprey Day Lite pack. Waiting on the Stiker protective case which is scheduled for delivery this sat. I will post up more user info once we get back on the road and put this tech to use. SpaceX we have a Starlink lift off!! 😊 Front yard initial set up. The mini fits easily in my Osprey Daylite plus pack.

  7. My experience has been that almost any campground that has weather cold enough to freeze water pipes will not have water at the site, but usually has community water located and multiple spots. I carry a full 5 gallon water bottle from home and when it becomes empty I can use to transfer water to the Ollie if needed. Mossey

  11. R-Villa, I dont know how old your camper is , but on the Furrion unit when you want to play a DVD. You have to go to the AUX button and scroll to opitcal setting.. i didnt see that this was mentioned here.. just a reminder.. good luck and congracts our your new (to you) Oliver…

  12. And what we do not know yet is if @R-Villa has changed between these input sources. Is the correct source selected? In choosing an alternate source does the TV work?
    2 points
  13. The question I have at this point of your troubleshooting is, have you verified that there is a HDMI plugged into the DVD player. The reason for 2 HDMI cables near the tv from an Oliver historical point is for a third video source for the tv. The first video source is the coax cable, the second video source is the DVD player in the stereo system and the third video source could be a stand alone DVD player, a VCR, a Roku/Fire stick device or a game console that would be placed in the attic above the tv. When I switch between the video sources, I have to change the signal source setting on the tv to match the input device. You may have input choices such as HDMI1 or HDMI2 or antenna or cable. Good luck, Mossey

  14. We usually travel with empty or nearly empty fresh, gray and black water tanks. We store our trailer at a storage facility and no water is available. Although we don’t feel strongly about it, it never seemed right lugging a lot of fresh water with us. We fill up our tank when we arrive at our destination. We do carry fresh water in various jugs for drinking, coffee etc. I think it is a matter of personal preference and convenience.

  15. Have done it both ways, full and partially full, which depends on my attitude at the time of departure, how long will the trip be and whether its a solo trip or if wife is coming along. Regardless we always carry two BPA free water jugs that are filled for drinking and cooking water. Never drink from the holding tanks which is only used for cleaning dishes and people.

  18. That would be quite a pain! Mine is like yours. I leave my hose attached. Not interested in a fancy hose. I cut the round elbow end, that goes into the dump, flat so that it fits behind the bumper. Quick and easy at the dump station. When we get home from a trip, I rinse with the garden hose and put it back in place.

  19. It would be easy to do. Mine came notched on both sides; driver side benefits the sewer hose hookup, passenger side the propane quick connect and now the hose nozzle as well.

  20. Lots of good spots here but honestly having stayed at Sand Hollow in the past this is one I would cross it off the list as a waste of time. There are much better places in the SW or even SW Utah than Sand Hollow. I would also encourage while exploring those popular areas to get off the beaten track and venture into many of the awesome BLM areas of the SW that are every bit the equal to the National Parks and Monuments but without the crowds or fame. Regardless have a great trip.

  21. Lots of creative ideas for transportation and storage of the SL mini. This tuber did a nice job with his emergency back up kit. I already have a hard case for our mini and will likely also buy the Anker power bank for remote use when needed.

  25. We, too, leave home with a full fresh tank. Our water at home tastes good and has low mineral content, unlike the water often available at campsites. We don't notice the weight difference when towing. If we must use the water at a campsite, we use an inline filter.

  26. We always travel with a full tank, even if heading to a campground with water hookups. Twice we've arrived at a destination and found that the campground well pump wasn't working.

  28. Just brought her home, new to us 2017 Elite II. Hull 207. We are so excited to be here and to be the proud new owners of this beauty! We have a Casita independence which we will be selling. We live in NH. We both retired in the past few years and want to explore our amazing United States while we are still in our go go years. We are looking forward to learning about the Ollie and enjoying adventures on the road.

  29. Quoting myself to make a point. The first pic is a 20’ section (when extended) of RhinoExtreme sewer hose, very difficult to stow since it bulges out (snakes) when attempting to contain in the rear bumper compartment. The second pic is the same extended length of Waste Master sewer hose, much more manageable! And yes, the nozzle end can be rotated to position the valve handle facing upward, thus allowing it to easily pass through the notched (wider) opening at the compartment end. Also shown is the gray water hose with end valve.

  35. We have 10" mattresses from Brooklyn Bedding: Dreamfoam Essential - RV (rvmattress.com) Ours are very comfortable and heavy too. Soon, we will cut a radius in one corner, so they will fit better, not being jammed in one corner. Because they are tall mattresses, the standard twin fitted sheet works well due to the extra height. Chris is very much about a neat made bed. She uses Bed Sheet Straps the mattress protector and fitted sheets, something like these: Amazon.com: Gorilla Grip Bed Sheet Straps, Adjustable Elastic Fasteners with Metal Clips, Keep in Place Fitted Bedding Holder, Easy Install Suspenders Mattresses, Firm Tight Accessories, 4 Pack White : Home & Kitchen

  36. This is the basic symptom of a plumbing leak. The leak causes a loss of pressure in the lines. Pressure drops below the set pressure and the pump kicks in to recover, just like when water is being used. The "weird water problem" cited above was the opposite issue, where the pump would not turn on with loss of line pressure.

  38. So, your Furrion player is working. Your HDMI is either not connected at the TV (check this first), not connected at the player, or somehow the HDMI cable went bad. This is assuming you can see a TV picture using some other input, either via TV antenna, Wi-Fi streaming, etc. If you do not see a picture at all then your TV power supply or LED screen is blown, which means replace the TV.

  39. While camping on a 3 1/2 week trip our curbside Dometic awning started acting up. It would only open about 2 feet and refused to open any farther. After numerous resets as per manual and several conversations with Oliver support we had to take our Elite II #650 to a Dometic repair shop. We initially believed that the relay had quit working which required access to the relay through the on/off tabs right inside the door. This ended up not being the issue. After more investigation the awning had jumped track and would only move 1 to 2 feet.. After a 3 hour charge we are good to go. When investigation this issue on the forum we had not found any other awnings that had had this problem. So this is a little input incase someone runs across this issue. I guess I should have climbed up and tried to see if track was an issue, but after resets performed in manual and on Dometic web pages, the motor would not jog after performing reset instructions. With my bad knees I tend to let others seek out issues not on ground level. Good luck and happy camping

  40. That rules out the tv DVD player. I would verify the tv wiring first as it’s easier to get to. Next compare the tv wiring to the stereo wiring, which should be accessible through a port hole in the upper street side cabinet. I’m not familiar with your equipment, but the video signal is probably a HDMI cable. Mossey

  41. @R-Villa We had to replace our Furrion dvd/radio a few years ago under warranty. It just quit working. Several other owners have had similar issues with their Furrion dvd/radios. I called Oliver and they sent a new unit as I was still under warranty. Oliver sent a paid return label for the non working dvd/radio which I shipped back. Have you removed the dvd/radio from the wall to check that all wiring is attached to the back of the radio?. Also try disconnecting the radio from its power source to attempt a hard “reset” it. Sometimes this works.

  42. Ty J, It was my Humor, which gets me in trouble every now and then. I really did understand that the Clips, Clamps and Braces, would come off before use. And we will be installing a tether of some sorts on the frame to bath door/latch, as it popped open again while under tow on our last trip, however nothing was damaged this time. B~OUT

  43. 1st Road test: spoiler alert, I am quite impressed after 1st night with the fan running and the first trip with the AC set on AUTO AC at 70 degrees F. When we left my dad's house in SW MI the temp was 66 degrees. Epoch batteries 99% By Mid day temps had climbed to 84. Pulling into our house south Nashville 8 hrs later it was 91 degrees outside and the Epoch batteries showed 75% with a 87.5 amperage draw on high AC output. I know it is a lot different than coming up from FL but still pretty happy with the results. Cabin temperature never got above 72. Experience so far inside has been pleasant. Slept a lot better the first night. Temps and humidity stayed more constant. I didn't wake up hot and have to turn down the temperature. The fan did stay on all night but relatively quiet and I actually really liked the circulating air without the worry of using up too much battery. Turned off my other fans I usually use. The FULL AUTO mode is still somewhat of a mystery to me as of yet. I intuitively feel like once I get some clear answers it will be positive. Everything else is thought out well. The Auto AC and heat work as expected. Still not enough experience with dehumidifying and sleep modes. The fan does not continuously bring in fresh non-conditioned, it re-circulates the cabin air. IF so, it is well designed. Sealed unit is the way it was explained to me. I am not sure how that works but it did feel that way during the night. We had a lot of rain a couple of days. Condensate dripping off the Oliver does not bother me. The highest amperage draw on high that I have seen is still under 90 amps I like the way it has 3 different options to send air directly out to the cabin in both directions. I can feel it sitting at dinette while typing on the computer. It has a dump switch so that air comes straight down to the bed area. And the rotating vents mode actually changes up the air flow nicely. Thought I have kept it off mostly. I don't necessarily need the AC on all the time but I really like the air circulating quietly. Happy with keeping the Suburban propane for back up heat. Also, glad to have 12k heat pump available to use on Auto mode. Took off the back plate for T-stat. Looks better. Plenty of head room. The remote is nice but still figuring it out. Comes with a mount. I forgot to mention earlier Kevin at SDG said it would be $1800 for install at his shop which includes Suburban thermostat wiring/placment. For the DIYer it is $1350 shipped without SoftStart, $1650 with the SoftStart. The SoftStart is basically $300 either way. You can get a little bit of a discount (-$20) on SoftStart website. All for now. Best, Mike Screen shots riding down the road at different times during the drive home.

  44. Dave, If the trailer is going to be in storage warehouse for over 3 weeks I plug it in and leave it. Less than 3 weeks I just leave it unplugged. When would go get it and pull up the Lithonics app, the State of Charge was all over the place for each battery. 95%, 87%, and 83%. I reached out to Oliver and Mike said if the warehouse Bay doors are open the panels will pick up a little and suggested, I turn off the solar. Next time I turned off the solar the battery State of Charge was close between the 3 batteries. This stuff is way over my pay grade.

  45. Good news, I just solved the electrical mystery about 1-hour ago. It turns out that one of the electrical connectors going to the master light switch had fractured and when I pulled on the wire the female end remained connected to the switch. I replaced the connector, reattached the wire and all lights are now functioning. I am so glade it was not a problem with a wire in the wall. Thanks to all who provided thoughts and recommendations. I am sure it is not the last challenge I will face given the Ollie basically experiences a 4 or 5 on the Richter scale each time it gets towed. Also, I have added a multimeter to my Ollie tool box. The forum is a great place to go to learn and find support.

  46. I take old king or queen sheets from the house and make an envelope with the flap on the wall side. Now I will admit that they aren’t pretty because I can’t sew a straight line, but they sleep well and they were cheap. And I also cut twin size bed spreads down to size so there wasn’t so much to tuck in. Mossey
