Green Lakes State Park near Syracuse. Home base when visiting our son and his family. They have a range of different site types, hookups or not. The lakes are the big draw. They're actually green in color because "they are meromictic lakes, meaning their waters don't mix, and high concentrations of calcium carbonate suspended in the water column reflect green light wavelengths."5 points

That is a great way to do things, as an avid mountain biker I always cringe when I see bikes strapped to the front of some TV, ripping down the interstate at 75MPH behind a gravel truck. Lol. The only thing worse is seeing bikes flop around on the back of a 30’ trailer like a fish on the end of a line out of water.3 points

Lots to do here at Pemaquid Point. Yesterday we really enjoyed Pemaquid Point Light House on the Bay of Maine. We highly recommend a visit a if you ever camp here. We took the stairs to the top of of the light house…what a great view. The lens was a work or art and still warns mariners of the rocky coastline. It can be seen 14 miles from the shore line. 🇺🇸🇺🇸 We Patriots always love seeing Old Glory Flying. 🫡 🇺🇸🇺🇸 Maine flys the colors of our country everywhere. Just awesome to see. Cooler temps made is making this trip a really enjoyable. A frost advisory this morning. Loving the Great North Woods and everything about our stay. We broke out our long handle gear! A time to reflect. The tide was out and I caught this pic reflecting the light house while we hiked around rugged shoreline. Lunch was a Lobsta roll and a sampling of the local potatoe salad. 😋 A coastal view from the top of the light house. We watched this long lobster boat pull his traps along the coast line. We could actually see him pull the traps and check each lobster for legal size a toss back into he bay the ones that were not quite ready for harvest. The weather was perfect with 63 being our high and full sun. What a day! 🇺🇸 IMG_4020.mov3 points

XPLOR in The Great North Woods. Nothing like New England in the fall of the year. Landed several nights at Pemaquid Point Campground in New Harbor, Me. https://www.pemaquidpointcampground.com/ Large sites and most if not all are W/E only. The fall foliage is slowly beginning to turn and the night temps are perfect sleeping weather. We would highly recommend this family owned CG. We always try and enjoy a nice campfire every evening. Tomorrow its will be time to sample some of the local fresh seafood. 😋 Lobsta!! 🦞🦞 rolls! Happy Travels! Large sites! Perfect northern exposure for our SL mini deployed on the table.3 points

We have 2 different TVs with our current first choice a 2023 F150 with a max tow factory package rated at 14K tow/1400 tongue (over 500 use WD hitch). I added air lift at the rear for minor leveling and have had no issues with this set for 2 years. When I had a 3/4T F250, did not use WD hitch. WD is anderson (2 5/16 ball). I try to not to exceed 50% of tow rating of equipped vehicle.2 points

Sorry in the delay getting back we have been crazy busy and haven’t had a chance to reply. We were also thinking of using the basement for the litter box. We plan to do a one night camping trip soon and bring him along he is only 7 weeks and is just starting to use his litter box with less accidents. We have been driving him around in the car to get him used to it and so far he seems to like going for a ride. Thanks for all you help. Bill Nancy and Eli2 points

You can run it off batteries. How long would be dependent on how many amps the cooker drew out of the batteries. Another concern is how long will it take your solar system to recharge them. I could not find any wattage rating for that unit but I guess it to be around 1750 at least. At that rating, you would remove about 150 amps per hour. On an excellent solar day you could replace that amount in about 6-7 hours assuming no other concurrent draws.2 points

I’ve used a couple of different electric skillets recently. One with a lid, one without. Meh 😳 Has anyone ever tried something like this??? https://www.ninjakitchen.com/products/ninja-foodi-6-in-1-indoor-grill-4-quart-air-fryer-zidEG201?srsltid=AfmBOorrvf2Fa89RwdVxJzCDwUJOWgiKiA80EXiJDdyltlXGQdMcA0Z4 I’m sure it wouldn’t deliver the perfect steak to satisfy a Blackstone purist. But it might make up for that with above average scores in 1 Air Fry 2 Bake 3 Broil 4 Grill (yes, even grill) Seems like it might be a significant improvement over the convection microwave for many meals??? PS I have the big lithium package. Would that be able to run this on battery?2 points

I had a Retrax cover on my former TV truck, but needed more bed room so replaced it with an A.R.E. cap. As with the former, we travel with the bike rack on the front of the Savana, but our folding ebikes are stowed inside in protective bags. Once at camp the ebikes are deployed and the rack is then used for local transport and securement.2 points

Other than front TV or rear Oliver carry, I’ve seen owner pics and discussion of racks mounted between the two using a double 2” receiver; trailer towed from lower, rack mounted in upper. These receivers are rated for the heavier load, I kinda remember 10,000 lbs., not sure if a reducer was used in the upper to enable use of a 1.25” bike rack, but think that setup would be an option. Be sure and buy a rack with optional ramp, a real back saver! As for securement, I chain our bikes to the rack at night, cover in place and set alarms!2 points

Surprising to hear of 3 of these incidents when they have only made ~1700. Still only a .17% rate but they tow so well. Context on why is helpful, as reaching down for a phone while towing and losing control has very little to do with the trailer.1 point

Not sure about the term "breaker rating" but if you decrease the "charge rate" it may help. When you're connected to shore power overnight you do not need a high charge rate to get back to 100% SOC. @dewdev I believe the max charge on your model is 150A. If it is set at this rate, it will produce a bit of noise and for example it would top off 600 LiFePO4 batteries down to 50% SOC in just 2 hours! You could set the rate down to 50A and instead 50% will take 6 hours. Our Victron Multiplus II is rather quiet, though I sleep directly over our inverter-charger. I have our charger set at 100A so it can regain amp-hours quickly. Because of this, the charger kicks in when we first connect at a campsite in the afternoon. By bedtime SOC is normally at 100% and unit stops charging. There has been 2-3 times when it is still charging that time of night (e.g. when running our oven and other 120VAC during evening hours). When this occurs, lying in bed I open the Victron app, turn it off to go to sleep. I turn it back on first thing, and by the time we break camp we are back to 100%! Make sure all your battery settings are correct for your Xantrex. I don't believe this should occur with LiFePO4 batteries.1 point

So about the same as a Dometic 13.5k AC on high powered by 12V DC.1 point

AI Overview The wattage rating for the Ninja® Foodi® 6-in-1 Indoor Grill & 4-Quart Air Fryer is 1760 watts. This powerful output allows the appliance to deliver the high heat needed for grilling, air frying, roasting, baking, broiling, and dehydrating functions.1 point

Good to meet you in the Oliver "campground" when you arrived for your leak repair. Good it is now fixed...bad about the cost. Be well.1 point

There was (unfortunately both the husband and wife are now - as far as I know - deceased) a long time owner of a fairly early Elite II that polished and waxed the "belly" of their Oliver at least once each year. Certainly their Oliver - both inside and outside was a wonderful sight to behold. Bill1 point

I have always been afraid to mount my bikes on the front of the TV. Too many bugs and other road hazards. I have been very happy carrying my bikes on a low bed rack mounted above my Retrax bed cover. The front of the rack has two rocky mounts for the thru axles, the rear trays are from Voodoo. I made the bed rack with components from various venders. I have to remove the front wheels for travel, but have full bed capacity except for the bed consumed by the Retrax roll box.1 point

Front of TV makes the most sense! Why put more weight on the rear of the Oliver, when Olivers are already tongue light? There's a lot of bounce back there too! We don't carry bikes now, but I've thought some on bringing my dirt bike (240 lbs plus rack weight). A 1-up very light bike and rack, back of the trailer is OK. Going with something heavier, front of TV helps with the balance and both TT and TV! You have to get used to seeing it up there, but it's better than wondering about the rear or watching a camera instead of eyes on the road.1 point

Thanks for your helpful suggestion. I have considered the Ride88 system. I actually purchased a different product from Amazon that secures the bike to the truck bed sidewall rather than that front of the bed: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FP4TT13F?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title See attached photo. But, carrying my large mountain bike in the truck bed significantly limits the amount of other stuff we can haul in the bed. Our hope is to be able to carry the bike in a bike rack behind the trailer while on the road. Then, when necessary, secure the bike at night inside the truck bed with canopy. We can remove other stuff carried in tubs, that is a less likely theft target than the bike, and secure the bike inside the truck bed with canopy at night. Ronbrink, thanks for suggesting the front hitch mount. We may go that direction if we can't make the rear bike rack work. But, I am still hoping to find an RV-rated bike rack that will work with a 1.25" receiver. It seems to be that a 1-bike rack, properly designed, should not exceed the safe rear bumper load of an Oliver Elite II, and so be compatible with a 1.25" receiver. But, I have yet to find it!1 point

Have you @Rivernerd ever considered the system linked below. It's not a hitch mount which personally I don't care for although I do own the original 1UP double hitch rack but rarely if ever use it. The Ride 88 truck bed mounts are really well engineered and made, which assumes you do not object to placing bikes in the truck bed. I prefer it myself. It does take up some storage room and unless you use a soft cover roll up tonneau will not work with most if not all hard tonneaus but can be implemented with topper shells. The system seems to be very reasonably priced too, far less expensive than most hitch mount systems once you factor in the Oliver hitch receiver. We have carried our road bikes and kayaks doubled up in the truck bed for years, but now that we are transitioning to trail/mountain biking the Ride 88 system seems to be the best I've seen yet. https://www.ride88.com/toyota-tundra1 point

I do not have the 1UP bike rack, but rather the comparable QuikrStuff Mach2; it too is rated for RVs in the 2” receiver model. As @mossemi pointed out, the 1UP model you mentioned is not suitably rated, but the 1UP SD model would meet your need. Regarding Oliver’s receiver, the 1.25” stock receiver can either be modified as you noted or simply replaced with a 2” receiver for light loads. Personally, I have a front-mounted 2” receiver hitch on my TV.1 point

A good place to camp the night before you appointment is James M. Robb State Park in Fruita. It’s only about 10 miles from ALCAN making it easy to get to a 7:30 appointment. It’s also just a couple of miles from the entrance to the Colorado Monument, a must see and a great way to spend the day there.1 point

We've used an induction cook top while camping for several years. Even tent camping we would take along an extension cord, clam shell and folding table to set up kitchen and the Induction cook top worked flawlessly. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FLR0ET8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Also the Magma brand cookware is induction ready and works great. Cast iron works well too. https://www.amazon.com/Magma-Products-A10-360L-IND-Stainless-Induction/dp/B00B99RJS2/ref=pd_bxgy_sccl_2/136-6643772-0764029?pd_rd_w=QrH0M&content-id=amzn1.sym.7757a8b5-874e-4a67-9d85-54ed32f01737&pf_rd_p=7757a8b5-874e-4a67-9d85-54ed32f01737&pf_rd_r=3NN2WH06PJQ2VVQE75WW&pd_rd_wg=Lz4Xe&pd_rd_r=0b995bde-1857-4e81-999f-06ceee7a1430&pd_rd_i=B00B99RJS2&psc=11 point

When you’re at a campground you most often have shore power.1 point

I carry a single burner induction cooktop for use when hooked up to electric. It stores in the drawer when not in use. Works great both inside and outdoors.1 point

We prefer to use propane since it works wherever we are. An electric unit only works if you have shore power. We’ve got a Blackstone grill and a Weber Q1000 that we use outside almost all the time unless the weather is really bad… then we use the inside propane cooktop. Mike1 point
