A few Oliver showroom floor photos of the Lippert awning style windows installed on 26 YM Olivers. It’s my understanding from Oliver that these windows will allow for retro fit on existing Olivers. Pricing on the retro fit of all (5) windows has not been announced yet. 3” max opening. Black interior frame and pull down roller shade. Also note the new white belly band.7 points

We’ve been camping in Great Basin National Park in eastern Nevada the last few days. Our campground (Upper Lehman) is at about 7,700 feet, small and no hookups. There are only a few sites large enough for our Oliver. We’re pretty happy with our site, #3. There are a few other campgrounds, also small. The Wheeler Peak campground is at 10,000 feet. We went up there and did a 3 mile hike to a couple of alpine lakes. The air can be a little thin up there when hiking uphill!6 points

This change isn't costing everyone money... Those who are using Starlink for alarm monitoring of second homes are making out on this deal. Instead of paying $50 per month for low level roam they can just pause it and pay $5 instead.4 points

I’m okay with this change. It will be interesting to see how low “low-speed data” is. We’re currently camped at Great Basin National Park with very sketchy cell service and the Starlink mini is working great. No utilities here so I’m using a Jackery power supply that was 50% off on Amazon prime day. No complaints. Mike3 points

Have not studied about the difference in manufacturer's engine brakes, but where you're located an engine brake would be nice! We used to install Cummins in several different industrial applications, nice engines. From what I understand the Ford 6.7L diesel works great towing an Ollie.2 points

The one axle that has the bent brake backing plate must have really been hit hard! The backing plate on mine is at least 1/8 inch thick steel. With the strengthening ribs and flange it would take a lot to bend it which means the drum must have taken a heavy hit as well. The drum being cast iron could be cracked I wouldn’t use it and if the brake backing plate is tweaked at its mounting flange the shoes will never contact the drum squarely and you’ll always have braking issues with that assembly. You’re doing the right thing to send the entire mess back and get all new assemblies.2 points

Lower Lehman is closed. Lots of work going on there. I think Wheeler Peak is also closed.2 points

I plug the SL into the Jackery for 110 power. Here I have the dish sitting on aluminum box on the tongue and Wi-Fi is plenty strong both inside the trailer and behind the trailer where we’re sitting. I have the mini router but haven’t needed it yet. Heading to Lake Tahoe today.2 points

3 years in and zero issues with the Truma Aventa condensate lines clogging here. We just make sure that our trailer is dead level and all is good. 😊 As I recall I never had issues with the “Demonic AC” either. 🤔2 points

Agree, but understand the owner manuals are universal and state that some units may not have all of the features described. For example: “X-FAN function is only available on some models.” Furthermore, typical air conditioning is the Cool Mode setting wherein the compressor will regularly cycle to maintain a desired temperature and the supply fan runs continuously, which causes humidity spikes when the compressor shuts down periodically. In Dry Mode the compressor runs continuously for the sole purpose of condensing moisture-laden air to reduce humidity. Yes, this mode will chill the air much like Cool Mode, but since the compressor is set to run for a prolonged period the temp and humidity will continue to drop to such a point that it exceeds its function and thus, should then be turned off and the unit switched back to Cool Mode. Before Cielo, I had to use the Dry Mode to buffer occasional humidity spikes during the day, but when asleep at night I would often wakeup to extreme humidity levels at morning. The Cileo’s ‘Comfy Mode’ solved these dreaded humidity occurrences, both day and night!2 points

Back in the 1990's, I downloaded hundreds of hours of music (Napster anyone?) over dial-up. It usually took about 2-3 times the length of the song to get it downloaded, if it didn't fail. Then came DSL, Oh my Goodness, it was usually finished before I could queue up the next download. My goal was to get and catalog every Billboard Hot 100 single from 1940-1999. It took me 10 years. Anybody have a request from that era?2 points

The old Dometic unit was 13,500 BTU, still last year for example, in the southern Arizona desert we were camped in 115 degree weather. The Dometic ran continuously all day from mid morning until late afternoon. If the temperature dropped to the upper 90’s the unit seemed to be able to cycle off and on but close to and over 100 it would not cycle off while maintaining about 75 degrees in the camper. I question buying an air conditioner smaller than 13,000 BTU unless you never plan on camping in the summer or later on selling it to someone who never wants to camp in the summer. Maybe my old unit was having other issues as well, who knows.2 points

@Steve Morris I purchased the same tripod adapter. It works quite well. We have an old aluminum tripod which I plan to use as the primary support for our Mini.2 points

I really like the unit so far. A little disappointed with the owners manual however. They tell us about certain features but they don’t describe exactly what they do. Curious about Xfan function and I can’t tell the difference between air conditioning and the dehumidifier function. The Cielo thermostat was not mentioned to me but I did notice that SDG had one on the wall in the office area! After using the new unit for about a week now in high humidity I’m really thinking about adding the Cielo thermostat.2 points

I think it's well worth the $5 per month just for the peace of mind of having emergency connectivity if needed.2 points

After 8 years of use it was time to retire the Dometic air conditioner. I have looked at several brands and for one reason or another I decided on the Tosot brand which is the same as the Atmos brand and probably others as well. Since last summer the Dometic has been making fan bearing noises off and on and I’ve grown tired of climbing on the roof to oil the motor. After eight years I really didn’t want to replace the motor only to have something else fail so this was an excellent excuse to replace it with a higher efficiency quiet unit. We’ve been traveling out west for the past three and a half months and were passing “close” to Elkhart Indiana so decided to drop in and visit the SDG folks. The entire replacement process was perfectly coordinated and our installer Joe knew exactly what needed to be done. We’ve camped out in their parking lot the night before with 30 amp shore power available. The next morning at 8:00 AM I backed our trailer into their shop and about two hours later the job was done. They even printed a custom cover plate to cover up the holes from the old Dometic thermostat. We were able to sleep through the night with the air conditioner running for the first time in 8 years without having to use earplugs, and to watch television at half volume instead of full volume! The air registers force air towards the front of the trailer instead of most all of the cold air being forced onto the bed area. We’re parked in central Ohio for a few days and it’s very hot and humid but the air conditioner is keeping the Oliver very dry and comfortable. On low fan the unit draws about 9 ac amps. Running from the inverter the inverter draws 94 dc amps. The Dometic on inverter would draw between 130 - 140 dc amps under similar conditions. We are extremely pleased with the work that SDG provided and with the comfort and efficiency of the Tosot unit. I strongly recommend the folks at SDG for the air conditioner replacement. They have done several Oliver air conditioner replacements and have experience in replacing/installing air conditioners on many different rv types.1 point

@jd1923 Here is a link to what may help you with an answer on the used Super Duty you are looking at. You will likely need to register on the forum if you want to ask questions. Other than that lots of reading. I hope this helps! https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum30/ Open source says - The 2015 Ford Powerstroke is equipped with a 6.7L Powerstroke diesel engine and a 6R140 TorqShift heavy-duty 6-speed automatic transmission. As for the rear pumpkin, you would may want to call the owner and verify specs.1 point

Hey Geoff. Great advice. The WH does not appear to run in any way, shape, or form so testing the pump would be my next step. I am about 1 year and a couple weeks since our purchase, but I made a call to Oliver and they actually have a pump in stock. Since I am about 1.5 hours away I am going to make that drive and let them tackle it. I did speak to several other Truma authorized service centers, none of whom have parts and frankly, none of them inspired confidence in their ability to diagnose/fix the issue. I am hoping the Oliver folks will let me watch over their shoulder because I want to be a little more versed in the Aquago. By the way, it looks like the Aquago warranty is 2 years according to this. https://support.olivertraveltrailers.com/portal/en/kb/articles/truma-aquago-water-heater But eventually I will be doing this work on my own so I am book marking your post and hoping I never have to use it. 🙂 Thanks again! Wiring used by manufactures for trailer brakes may seem ugly or brittle, but it has properties and insulation appropriate for the application and harsh environment where it can exposed to water, oil, chemicals, constant vibration, and abrasion. Please use caution using extension cords for brake wiring because they could have inferior wire that looks good, but with insulation that could deteriorate and fail over time. Trailer brake wire is readily available for this purpose, and it's a better and proven choice. Cheers! Geoff1 point

Y'all might find this article interesting. It appears Ford added the Exhaust Brake with the release of the 6.7L Power Stroke starting in 2011, with Dodge and GM +/- close in time. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1490785-2015-exhaust-brake.html Ford guys online admitting the Ram having the better exhaust brake because the Cummins engine builds better back-pressure than the Power Stroke. I found this article because there is a very clean/reasonable 2015 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6.7L Power Stroke listed 4-Sale locally (grandpa passed only 130K miles). It's white with Super Cab... Hmmm? Anybody know what trans (and # gears) would be on the 2015 Power Stroke?1 point

Hey Bob, If you’re pressed for time and it doesn’t re-set, then you might be better off trying to fix it yourself because Truma service could be inconvienient, untimely and expensive. I’d check for a degraded pump, or a debris jam thats causing excessive current draw as the error code indicates. The year warranty is probably expired so it could be worth a try. If the WH operates at all before the error code shuts it down, then listen for unusual pump noise and/or measure the current draw. It normally runs just long enough to fill the reserve tank with hot water, and a DC clamp-on amp probe can be used to measure the current from the front panel. AC/DC amp probes are readily available and you can use the wiring schematic in the Truma Manuel to identify the pump’s wires where they enter the control board in front. Just separate one of the pump wires from the bundle, and clamp the probe over it. The pump is rated to draw less than 2.5 amps when pumping. If the error code is preventing it from running, then you'll have to remove the WH and take the pump out for testing. It takes a little time but it’s not difficult. Drain it through the front flip down drain before disconnecting the plumbing. Disconnect the propane line and unplug the control wire from inside the unit, cut the DC power at the splice in the back by the water connections. Carefully use a heat gun, spray solvent such as Goo Be Gone, and plastic putty knife to break the outside seal, and have some butyl tape and outdoor caulking on hand to reinstall it. Once out, connect a standard 1/2" NPT residential faucet hose to the pump's intake, prime it, and put the other end in a bucket of water. Connect it to a 12V battery with jumper cables and use stiff wire or paper clips to connect to the pumps plug. It should pump with good pressure and <2.5 amps. If the pump is okay, then unfortunately you're back to control board issues and probably going to the Truma dealer for diagnostics. But you will only be out of your own time for trying. The pumps are pricey at around $250 when I last checked. Only buy one from a reputable dealer because I saw a fake site advertising them for $55. I hope this helps! Good luck! Geoff1 point

Steve, I never did get dsl back in the day...only 28.8 (sometimes). That finally changed when we started full timing in '20. I would have gladly paid an arm or leg for dsl. If I get dsl speed from StarLink it would probably be enough for us :)1 point

Understood, I never had a leak issue with my Dometic either nor too concerned about being “dead level”. Some however, have not been as lucky!1 point

This may be of concern to some, but we no longer have to worry about clogged condensate drain lines or drip pans causing leaks inside our units, which both Dometic and Truma owners have experienced. After a year of use, I find no issue with the roof runoff.1 point

No, the internal drain system was abandoned. The condensation now just runs off of the roof.1 point

Got my email today too. I just signed up and paid $3.54 for this month and will be billed $5 monthly starting September. What-cha goin' to do? At least the un-pause will occur quickly. It would be a pain to cancel and create a new account each time. Also, it allows you to setup the dish and test when paused. Soon I'm going to work a "Wi-Fi to WAN" setup on our Pepwave router. So now I do not have to wait until we're getting ready to travel to resume service. We're leaving again in about 5 weeks. The longest we're home not camping is 2-3 months. Perhaps it's not the nickel-n-dime thing but for account maintenance issues. They likely have 100,000+ accounts on pause and without a small monthly billing they do not know whether they should carry the account. Keep in mind the value of the $50 plan. Also, if you're planning a trip for the last 2 weeks of your billing cycle you pay half the $50 or $165 plan cost (know your billing cycle date). Try that with Dish network (they charge one full month, use it or not) or with DirecTV, Verizon, etc. with their 2-year plans. I still believe Starlink service cost is quite fair.1 point

Hmmmm, not loving this as I often have my service paused for months (especially over the winter). I am more on the side of saying this is Starlinks way of getting a bit more money out of everyone. Here is some more info Starlink Replaces Free Pause Mode With $5 Monthly Charge | PCMag It is not optional: "SpaceX is sending emails to customers who have used paused mode, telling them to opt in to standby mode or lose their paused service line." "internet speeds will be capped at 500kbps. " You are not doing much at 500kbps.1 point

I don’t mind supporting the infrastructure at that amount, which is likely their intention. They haven’t disclosed at what speed they will limit speed to. Unlimited data at low speed, depending upon the speed, may not be all that useful. AT&T did that to our cellular plan which rendered it virtually useless.1 point

It is a nice addition to my system, and has an inbuilt angled surface for easy alignment. But the subscription fee is $23.86/month! 🤣 I have a tripod adaptor for any of my several tripods, and I'm waiting to see what Flagpole Buddy's Labor Day sale is going to be.1 point

I am still amazed at the efficiency and cooling power of the Atmos and glad that SDG adopted the Tosot as an in-kind replacement unit due to tariff-related issues. I did not opt for the Cielo Max Breez thermostat being offered at the time of my purchase, even though it was widely used by SDG in their typical Class B RV installs. I have since added this device and find it extremely beneficial in energy savings, comfort and humidity control. If you didn’t opt for the Cielo with this a/c upgrade I would highly recommend adding one, you won’t be disappointed! I think it is also worth mentioning that these 15K units are far superior to the DPll 11K formerly in my OLEll, which was often found marginal at times during extreme heat conditions here in Texas. I was really disappointed to learn after initial purchase that Oliver began putting this smaller unit in the 2020 year model and thus, always my intent to upgrade to a bigger and better unit. No regrets in my choice and certain you will feel the same!1 point

I have a 2000 Tundra Limited TRD with the 4.7lt V8. I see your in the PNW and them hills are somthing else. My truck has over 250K and still runs perfectly but, going over Stevens really put a strain on the vehicle. I'm towing a Ollie 1 but, by the time you load up the trailer and truck, it start to task the engine. Love my TRD and didn't want to kill it so I just did the next best thing. I went an ordered a Lexus GX550 Overtrail. Has a 100hp advantage over the Tundra and is just alittle shorter. 10 Speed auto really makes for easy towing. Full size Tundra and Sequoia were too big besides, the U.S. made engines are having a quality control issue. Not so with GX.1 point

We scored a wonderful spot at a Corps of Engineers park today (August 11,2025). Site 25 at Left Tailrace Campground near Fort Thompson, SD. Keep in mind that if one big battery fails you’ll be out of luck. If one or even two batteries in a three battery system fails, you can still camp with a single battery, something to consider. Also, I disconnected the charge line from my tow vehicle so have never charged the batteries while driving. Another thing I didn’t mention before is that lithium batteries like to be in a comfortable temperature range. The Battle Born batteries will work down to the low 30’s or upper 20’s degrees F and into something around 100 or so. Check out their specs. However at the extremes they will not charge. Again check out their specifications. I insulated the battery compartment door with 1/2 inch closed cell foam. Typically the battery compartment temperature is very close to the basement temperature.1 point

You and @Golfnut with LEI have this. Just got my new axles yesterday and they are rated the full 5200#. Must be an LEI thing likely limited to 5033# due to the springs. Good news, my axles are here! Bad news, Dexter packed them so poorly, they came badly damaged and going back. Alcan was the reseller on the axles. I special ordered the 50.00" axles from them. They got right on the phone with Dexter this morning, forward the many pictures I took showing the damage. Dexter will Rush Order my axles but rush means another 2 weeks plus shipping. Notice dinged Nev-R Lube cap and dented backing plate. So bashed in that the drum on the left will not turn. What a waste!0 points
