  1. I think the results will vary with the EZ Flex as we DID in fact try it with the Rapid Jack which is 7" tall on an asphalt driveway and it did NOT lift the other tire off the ground at all. Just saying.

  2. 2021 LE 2 ....tried using one of my 6.5" high Harbor Freight ramps. It will indeed lift either tire off the ground. Similar to using a leveler...it's as easy as it looks.

  3. Seems like we now have documented evidence from various owners that this method (ramp method) both does and does not work (Schrodinger’s Ramp? 🙂). There are a lot of variables that haven’t been detailed as part of the tests done. Things like trailer weight and trailer CG (center of gravity) depending on options, tanks empty or full, tongue height when hooked to tow vehicle, weight of tow vehicle, using ramp on forward or rear axle, etc. all might be affecting how much the Dexter EZ Flex suspension articulates (and how much the trailer tongue raises also) when using a ramp, and whether or not the other tire lifts off the ground. I’ll stick with my Army surplus HUMVEE scissor jack. I can get both tires on the same side off the ground so I can also rotate the tires front to back when doing my bearing maintenance.

  4. How do you cook at home? Do you frequently use your oven at home? If you do you will like having the convection feature. We spend a lot of time in our EII, and we rarely go to restaurants. That we were ordering the convection / microwave was a given. In the past two weeks I’ve made: Muffins, biscuits, a whole chicken, and a loaf of whole wheat sourdough bread. We use it both on and off grid.

  6. For all our Forum members, guests and Oliver travelers that might be in the way of this storm - please be careful! While this is not a hurricane it just might produce flooding, rain (obviously) and winds that could uproot trees. Thinking about you and wishing you the best. Bill

  7. The pizza oven, just wow! It will heat up over 700 degrees, hold the heat, has a good 5” clearance in the center. I’ve got a home-made crust for another pizza going on tonight! The cedar plank maple-glazed salmon was the envy of the campground, too. I’ve baked cinnamon rolls, a taco ring, crescent rolls, and roasted veggies, as well. The down side is size and weight, but if you want to eat well in camp and have a super useful tool, you can’t go wrong. I also have their huge griddle and a grill box, so the Camp Chef obviously works for me….and to bring this back on topic, the convection oven works great, too! I just enjoy cooking, both at home, and while camping.

  8. Unfortunately, I missed this part! This caused me to be thinking about having never coming across any suction cup at Harbor Freight that looked anything like the ones shown in the picture above. In turn, I happened to be at Harbor Freight this morning, found the suction cups but they (obviously) were in one piece that formed a "handle" between them. It really helps to actually read the entire post! Nicely done on both the post and the mod! Bill

  10. We use our convection feature of our oven at home, so going with the convection microwave was an easy choice, even though I mostly cook outside with a small Traeger wood pellet grill or a ginormous Camp Chef system. The Camp Chef system usually wins out due to the versatility.

  11. We don't use a microwave in our house so of course opted out of one for the Oliver too. We have made great use of the area for coffee and tea storage stuff. I'll try and post a few photos later today if I get the time.

  12. Ordered my 2021 without microwave. Do not miss a microwave but DO enjoy the additional pantry space for toaster oven and misc stuff. The space is finished nicely and the door and latch match upper cabinets. IMO the deletion was worth the trade and offset cost.

  13. Agreed Frank, the ramp option might not always work. In my test case, I don’t know the trailer weight at the time, but it was fully stocked and in dry camping mode. Water tank and gray tanks both half full. Trailer was connected to my F250 at normal, level height. I chocked both of the opposite side wheels. I think the variation in the results may be affected by the condition of the rubber bushings in the Dexter EZ-Flex. My 2021 bushings are still relatively new, so perhaps less articulation because the rubber is less compressible. The pic shows the linkage in the lifted position. The point of my test was to try out an option for changing a flat tire using equipment I am already carrying. I also carry a Humvee scissor Jack and an Agile adapter, based on your tests and recommendations (Thank you! ), detailed in related posts. A third option is to just use the stabilizer levelers (not recommended by Oliver), but I think that may flip the shackles, and I’d rather avoid stressing the frame. Coincidently, I got a flat rear tire on the TV 2 days ago, on a secondary road. I was not towing the trailer. The tire picked up a large lag screw. Rather than use the sketchy, never used OEM bottle jack on a gravel & sand road shoulder, I used the Humvee scissor jack and the Agile adapter and quickly changed that tire with the spare. So, in sum, my plan is to continue to carry the Humvee scissor jack w/ adapter, since it is suitable for both trailer & TV in unstable ground conditions.

  14. Hi all. I had discussed my problem of very low water pressure at my shower faucet even with the faucet head removed on an earlier post. No issues at kitchen, outside faucet or toilet. I decided to share this on a separate post on how I fixed the problem since others might have this problem sometime. I bought the vinegar (see pic) at Home Depot and was planning on pumping it though the fresh water tank (bypassing the water heater) and decalcifying before my next trip. But meanwhile I had the idea of removing the faucet head, turn of water or pump and drain as much of the water out of the shower water line as I could. Then I took a syringe - see pic (no needle) and slowly over 1 hr. injected about 2 cups of the vinegar down the faucet hose (see pic) . Be sure to wear gloves and eye protection as the vinegar will burn. I hung the shower hose to the shower holder so I got max amount of vinegar down the hose. Pics need to be rotated 90 degrees. After 1 hr. I went back and turned on the water pump and water pressure is back to normal. 👍

  16. We have had Solis Skyroam for a couple of years. We bought the device, but found Skyroam simply would not connect in some areas (like Lake Powell, AZ). We can see using it oversees, but frankly, we don't use it much because our $45 a month 5G T-Mobile hotspot works almost everywhere and it's 100 GBs a month. Charlie.

  19. To clarify, my scenario: 15 years ago, we bought a property for camping, way out in the sticks, in western North carolina. At that time, we had tmobile only. We had to get in the truck and drive several miles to a country church parking lot where we could pick up enough signal to call our daughter. A few months in, bought a separate Verizon cheap flip phone and cheap plan, and, immediately, had capability. It was a safety game changer. We've kept that two plan service concept going. Mine usually works where his doesn't, and vice versa. Unless no towers anywhere, like parts of the Yukon.

  22. I suggest you ask your sales rep to confirm. The microwave delete option is not shown on the 2023 Order Sheet. There was an option to delete it on our 2021 model, but there was no credit. It is nicely finished off inside and out just like the upper cabinets, we like the extra food storage space. We like to cook outside whenever possible, we use a cast iron Dutch oven often. We rarely eat at restaurants. We don’t use a microwave or convection oven often at home, so we don’t miss it.

  23. We’re leaving for Colorado in a few days until August. Our grandson will be attending hockey camps at various places in the state so we need to be in those places during those weeks. Making reservations at state parks was a challenge. At Steamboat Springs we had to reserve at a commercial park and that filled up fast too. Fuel prices may cause some last minute cancellations but things seem busy.

  24. I did a quick test with my 2021 LE2, but just used stuff I had with me while camping this past week. I used a Beech Lane leveler, 2 rubber jack pads, and a few 6x6 wood blocks. The total height off the ground was 6.5”. The rear wheel lifted free, very easy to do. If I wanted to remove the wheel, I would have lowered the rear stabilizer for additional safety. I did this test in a slightly sloped gravel parking lot, my objective being to simulate a roadside tire change. I assume the EZ Jack will work just fine, and will be more elegant and safer than my makeshift arrangement. I also think it’s much safer than a bottle or scissor Jack on the frame.

  29. Can't answer for everyone, but it was deluge of rain for about 6 days running here, doubt there were many people out camping in this neck of the woods for the holiday. Even snowed in Yellowstone and a few places around the state. A lot will depend on your location or where you plan on going. I expect the west to be full in the national parks this year, other public campgrounds will be a hit and miss depending on there location.

  30. Suction Cups... We've forgotten it on a few times and it did not fall off in transit. 31. Had Starlink for RVs been available when we finalized our build, I would have skipped the Cradlepoint. But I had good experience with CP in another rig, so opted for it in our Oliver. That said, if you opt for CP, don’t bother with the service bundled by Oliver - Mobility Help Desk. You’ll get MUCH better rates if you simply purchase a SIM and plan directly from the carrier. Mobility Help Desk plans are ridiculously expensive, and the “help desk” doesn’t offer much help in setup and/or configuring the system to your needs

  32. The 3M Command products are perfect for the smooth interior surface of the Ollie. Just added one of the Command broom holders by the door to keep a flashlight handy. The broom holder is the perfect size for a 2 AA cell MagLite. Also used Command strips to mount the magnetic holder for the awning remote so the remote is close by when set up at a campground (but the remote does get put in the nightstand drawer when traveling since the magnetic mount isn’t very strong). And the Command products all remove cleanly from the fiberglass so I (or a future owner) can easily change things in the future.

  33. And, judging by your pictured vehicles, white is your favorite color, so perfect! Please do let Oliver know that you've purchased a trailer. Keeps you in the loop for updates, safety recalls, etc. As @dewdevsaid.

  34. Welcome to the family. If you have any questions, someone or a bunch of people here will likely be able to help you. Additionally, you might want to contact Oliver and tell them what hull number you have and to give them your contact information. The picture you provide looks great. Nice green lawns. What City are you in?

  35. Absolutely! In addition: Add either an additional spring or secure the screen with a stainless steel wire . Both of these can be tedious to do but the springs supplied with the screen normally rust and break after three to five years of use. (Ask me how I know...🙄 Bill

  36. We've had a long thread on Starlink running for quite awhile. Several people here have it at home, and @IL_Travelers has been using the roaming ability on a trip out west. His comments are on the page 4.

  37. If I felt I needed more internet than our 5g phones could access, I'd order the starlink, and take advantage of their roaming program for rvs. (Full disclosure, I have a starlink on order...) The monthly fee is $135 for roaming ability, but it is billed in one month increments, and can be started and stopped at any time. (Subject to change, of course, as with anything produced by a Musk company...)

  38. One slightly off topic comment….. for five camping seasons I have been hating the back lighting on my Furrion radio head. The normal mode is very bright, when I switched it OFF by pressing the POWER button It dimmed a little and showed the time. I have been pulling the circuit breaker for it sometimes….. until I finally read the @#$&* operating manual, a week ago. Does a long press sound like a logical design? Not to me. But now the display goes completely black when I turn it off. John Davies Spokane WA

  39. Frank: I like your approach of having two safety supports at the tire change side. In addition, I only jack up my OE2 ATTACHED to my truck. Parking brake set of course. So, should something upset the apple cart, I'll have three safety points. Nothing like having a 6,000 pound truck as an anchor. 🙂 GJ

  40. I just use a good heavy duty scissor jack on some 4”x4” cribbing to lift the trailer (but mine does have the marked jack points on the steel subframe) and then after raising the trailer I put the stabilizer down just as a backup. Chocks under the tires on the opposite side of course. Doing my wheel bearing re-packing now.

  41. If diesel gets rationed there will be more problems than just for RVers! Long haul trucks and trains live on diesel so supply chain issues will shut down the country. I’ll pay the extra amount to travel. Let’s hope there continues to be some supply for all the serious users. Mike

  42. Depends on the added ingredients?😁

  43. What's that got to do with it?😇 Seriously - any human that I know of isn't going to lift one of these campers all by themselves. Knowing what works and especially knowing the right way to do it pertains to all of us. Besides usually being safer, the right way is also usually the most efficient and easiest way to get a job done correctly too. Bill p.s. besides - these kinds of topics are good to revisit from time to time particularly with more and more people obtaining previously owners Ollies.

  44. The Cradlepoint does seem pricey, and we'd sure be happy to find something that would work well for a cheaper price. We'll have to do more research to figure out which option will best meet our needs, as well as continue following this thread for more feedback before finalizing our build. Thanks for starting this discussion Coach and Jojo! Here's a link I just found: https://rvlife.com/mobile-hotspot-plans-for-rvers/

  45. We use the Netgear Nighthawk with the $50 Netgear portable MIMO antenna with AT&T. Everytime we have used it, it has had better reception than my Apple iPhone SE on Visable(Verison). We just put the antenna in the window with the best reception. Andrew

  46. We have a Cradlepoint and their omnidirectional roof top antenna that was installed by the service department since 2018. Love the wifi and reception in and out of the Ollie but have to agree with Snowball not sure I would recommend at this point. It has been a pain at times not having the subscription nor computer savvy to fix simple issues easily. One good thing, there are finally some decently priced unlimited data plans from the big 3 which makes a cellular modem more useful. We recently got a 100GB un-throttled data plan through ATT for $55/month prepaid. A lot of times cellular companies do not want to give you unlimited or fast data for hotspot usage without charging an arm and a leg. It has been the real issue for me trying to save money and switching plans only to find out the data didn't work as advertised. I do feel like their should be a simpler option that would work just fine like some of the mobile hotspots, satellite, etc. but saying that there are some very cool features like better reception than from a cell phone due to better technology combined with stronger antenna, better GPS signal, Wifi outside of the camper ( good for when in TV), can have 2 SIMs installed for switching between services, nice being able to keep Ollie connected to the internet and for wifi connected devices like alarms, cameras, door bells, temp sensors (main cab and fridge), Victron energy, etc.

  47. Even if Starlink gets it’s act together quickly to get the RV program operational, it will still be crippled by interference from trees and buildings, and it is extremely power hungry (100 watts) so it isn’t suitable for a whole lot of places I would normally choose. My wife needs to be able to do teleconferences, so minutes-long blackouts are unacceptable. If you just want to download Netflix videos to watch later, it would be fine. As much as I love the concept, I still hate seeing many thousands of satellites in low orbit. That is going to come back and bite them one day when there is a collision with a manned spacecraft. We have too much space junk and we should not be putting up more. First we should create an efficient way to dispose of what is already there. John Davies Space Nut, WA

  49. The cradlepoint system was developed for companies that had a need for wide area communications. Police, Ambulance, etc. It is now developed for Boating and RV purposes. This is NOT a cell booster. It is a combination Router and WiFi with a super ability to locate signals. Like a cell phone but with much more powerful antenna that are external. It is not dependent on a park or campground antenna, but uses cell towers with the ability to pull signal at 4k and HD from great distances. Still doing my research...A lot of recent You Tube video on this technology new to RV and Boating............If anyone get this prior to August let me know how it works......THANKS OLIVER FAMILY!

  50. From our some what limited experience internet service at campgrounds is spotty. Sometimes it is distance but often it is the number of users trying to access the internet at the same time. Slow, poor access, and constantly crashing. We finally gave up and used 1 phone a a hot spot and then migrated to a hot spot device that will support a handful of devices. Just my 2 cents. We have the Oliver Wi-Fi booster on our 2019 Ollie. Knowing what I know now I am not sure that was $600 well spent. We have the cell booster too.
