Ollie in the wild!! Enjoying several days of Blue Ridge Mountain camping fun and a little trout fishing on the Toe River. We really enjoy like Mountain River Family CG and one of the nicest in the the Blue Ridge, so we are back again. A little fire side fresh venison chili from last falls hunt was perfect for last nights dinner at 51 degrees. We give this CG ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤩. The owners are awesome folks who camp and know what campers enjoy. Happy Camping!5 points

On the propane tank carried in the basket.... We have the 30 lbs tanks and they are more than enough. If I were to do it again.... I would get the 20 lbs tanks and replace them with two Blue Rhino's from Lowes or HD. Then when on the road I would run one dry... switch to the full one and trade out the empty at the next stop. I don't see the need to carry an extra unless you are boondocking for an extended period of time. Also, it seems to me that a propane tank on the basket would be an easy pick up for a thief. Just my $.02. Good Luck3 points

@mossemi, you're correct, and thanks. Steve has flagged him. Though the mods try to read every post, you and others can also help the mod team to respond quickly by using the "report" button in the drop down box, as you did, as well as making this post. When someone reports a post, a message immediately goes out to everyone on the team to take a look at the post, and take any action necessary, as Steve did hours ago. Normally, we'd hide or delete the post, but we can leave this one up here as an example. I think a number of members don't know the report button exists.3 points

John when we ordered our 2021 the sale staff informed us that their are 3 options that cannot be added later and they are the front 30 amp connection, convection microwave and front and rear gas quick connects! Can't help you with the ultra fabric or storage basket and bike rack but we have the shower track and it is completely overpriced and not worth it, command hooks are a better choice. Another option we find we have no use for is the electronics package and omini directional tv antenna! Hope this helps3 points

We did not appreciate the peril! And then we got lucky. Yes, life is pretty good right now. We have the trailer outside right now, with several layers of a heavy duty opaque tarp secured with tie downs over the panels. The 30 amp switch is set to OFF. The cable ends in the battery compartment are well separated. The shore power is disconnected. It will stay like this until the batteries and the technician arrive. Thank you for making sure we are alert to the dangers.3 points

I see you have a 2021. Is the radio still under warranty? Even if you're just barely out of the warranty period, Furrion might still honor it if you contact them.2 points

replaced the battery yesterday with a AGM battery, so far, so good. I only went with one battery as for our use we seldom use battery power and only when I adjust the tongue jack if even them. We keep the trailer plugged into 120v power when at home, so it's hard to tell when a 12v power drain is being used from the battery, but it goes with the system, so we got one. trainman2 points

@SeaDawg I had never used the report button and since it was midnight, I went ahead and did both method’s. Thanks for explaining the procedure. Mossey2 points

We have stayed at Collier Seminole State Park in Naples on two separate trips. It may be tough to get a site. The park is well maintained and close to Marco Island and south Naples. There are a number of private parks. We know other Oliver owners that stay at a park on Sanibel Island. Good luck.2 points

We didn’t get the Oliver shower curtain track. It’s an odd design, seems a bit expensive, and some owners have had issues with the track detaching from the inner hull ceiling because of a poor riveting job. But we wanted a shower curtain though, so I attached the small Command hooks all around on the ceiling directly above the perimeter of the shower pan in the floor, and then hang a standard shower curtain on those hooks when we take our showers, and can quickly remove the curtain to let it dry outside the trailer when done. It was a cheap and effective solution. And if I ever come up with a different idea this one is easily removed completely. Command strips/hooks are a great accessory for attaching lot of things on the Ollie interior.2 points

@MAG, I'd like to thank you, for helping others in the future to avoid perils that you avoided, by design or chance. Changing out batteries with solar panels is not the same as swapping out car batteries. As you well know now. Thank you so much for helping others. Your honest questions and feedback will undoubtedly help others in days to come. Please keep us all posted on your progress. We're all rooting for you.2 points

Hi all, we have a November 7 delivery date, so we sat around the kitchen table looking at options. We have a few questions. 1. If you have the 30 amp connection at the front do you use it much? I assume it's for a generator hook-up. We're getting the Lithium Pro package. I don't foresee weeks of boondocking. Would it be useful to have? It's probably very expensive to add later. 2. Ultrafabric upgrade. Does that include the dining cushions also? I saw it for the twin bed fp. 3. Storage basket. We're thinking of going with 20# propane and carrying a 20# in the storage basket. Can a propane tank be carried there and how is it secured? Our thought was we could take it out at the camp area and hook up to a stove or firepit and not get the quick connect propane for front and back. 4. For those people that have the shower track option, is it worth it or if you don't have it, do you wish you did? 5. Bike rack. Do two standard bikes block the tail lights/turn signals on the back of the trailer? Oliver has some V shaped bike rack that attaches at the top and bottom of the bicycle wheels. Thanks so much for any responses. You all have been very helpful. My wife was hesitant to buy because of the cost, but sees the value in these trailers. Happy Mother's Day to you moms out there.1 point

I just completed my registration for my first ever Oliver Rally this May and my reservation at Guntersville SP. I had no idea until I called the park how full this event would be. It looks like there is great interest which is exciting since the 'Vid cancellation last year! The park has expanded the Oliver blocked loops to include some sites in C, A and B. I was able to get a site in the F loop but I suggest making a reservation soon if you are at all interested! I spent a good number of hours looking at Google Earth, Maps and YouTube videos to make my selection. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and learning more about my ILOVHER! Holler back if you are attending! I'm also heading to the factory immediately after the rally for a few repairs/mods. WhoooHOo!1 point

Am I misremembering, or does Oliver offer yearly checkups, maintenance at their factory? I have no desire to learn how to wax, reseal, change bearings, grease wheels, etc. I’m totally fine with all the inside fixes I need to do and have done, but I don’t have much free time for the outside stuff. I thought I remembered hearing that you could bring the Oliver (for a fee of course) to Hohenwald to get these things done. Seems like it would make a nice trip as well?1 point

I'm hoping a few people might want to gather for a game night (or game afternoon). I enjoy Blokus, SkyJo, and Trekking the National Parks. I can also bring Ticket to Ride or Settlers of Catan if anyone is interested in those. Please let me know your preferences as I don't plan to pack that many games.1 point

That's a new feature. The radio uses a combination of microphones and motion sensors, interpreted by A.I., to determine your mood. Based on that evaluation, it automatically picks the appropriate genre of music for your mood (based on an analysis of your past music selections and Google searches related to songs and artists) and powers up. Future revisions will also feature integrated mood lighting along with the audio. To stop the music, remain perfectly quiet and still while breathing slowly and twitching your eyes to simulate REM sleep. This will signal the A.I. to terminate the music. NOTE: Swearing and gesticulating energetically in the direction of the radio will only serve to switch the music to Kenny G. or a similar genre, so caution is advised. Or, it's broken. Good luck either way.1 point

Not in your wheelhouse today, maybe, but you've shown you're pretty fearless to learning a few new skills, @csevel. If you decide you want to ditch the microwave, I'm sure you can do it. And, we'll help. Got rid of ours a few years ago.1 point

I can only give some partial answers based on our 6 years of Olivering. 1. We don’t have the extra 30a connection. The times we’ve needed to use our generator we just plug it into the 30a on the side of the trailer. If you carry a generator on the tongue then it might be useful. We’ve never missed not having it. 2. I haven’t seen the new fabrics, so I’ll punt on this one. Ultra fabric wasn’t available in 2015. 3. We have used our quick connect A LOT. I hook my Weber or my Blackstone to the quick connect almost every where we camp. We carry a 20lb tank in the truck bed for our fire pit or if we want to cook far from the trailer. We have the 30lb tanks. I’m sure there is a way to secure a tank to the basket, but I haven’t seen it done. I have an aluminum box on the tongue for chocks, blocks, legos, gloves, flashlight, etc. 4. No shower curtain here. Don’t want one. 5. No bike rack experience, so this is my second punt. Mike1 point

I’ll add to that lock n lube another expensive tool dewalt battery operated greese gun matching the two on your first use. No more 🤬🤯🥵 worth every penny.1 point

Was there a filter between the fan and the main compartment? There should also a second one where the air comes in. Those should stop all dust going into the hose, both filters should be rinsed periodically, though the inlet one stays cleaner, unless you have a sheddy dog... If you keep the media moist enough that dust doesn’t form in the first place, that will reduce the number of cleanings. John Davies Spokane WA1 point

We had an annual service at Oliver in December 2021. It included checking and recaulking up on the roof, greasing the chassis, repacking the bearings, a full flush and descaling of the water systems and water heater. This required a full day and at least half of a second day. I suggest contacting Oliver Service for full details and pricing as I believe the cost for this has increased. We do grease our suspension every 3000 miles. I do this myself, it is pretty easy. I would recommend a 45 degree attachment for your grease gun. Much easier with the 45 degree elbow. Hope this helps. We were happy with service. We camped at Oliver the night before the service and night after service. We arranged this through Oliver too!1 point

Hey Moose. We stayed in C section at past rally's. This will be our first time in B section. B-07 so I am sure we will have a chance to talk. B section is a bit more shaded and has pull through sites, so it should be pretty easy to get into and set up. Plus you will be closer to the Pavillion, Vendor area, and Gathering place. Bikes would be a plus but not killer if you don't have them. Dog Park?? I think that might be new... and we'll probably see you there too. Good Luck and see you in May.1 point

Past rallies have been mostly owner run. Then we had the COVID gap without any rallies. This year, Oliver has taken responsibility for the organization and schedule so it is difficult to answer your question. At the park, there are common areas that could be used for spontaneous gatherings. I’m sure Oliver will have a central spot where the organizers will be stationed, either up at the lodge or down in one of the campground facilities. Not sure if there will be bulletin boards, but there should be a fairly busy agenda provided with displays, orientations and classes. Mike1 point

Newbie question, and may be way out over my skis. I’m from the “tech” world and in the past at conferences we have BOF or Birds of Feather groups that organize “spontaneously” using bulletin boards in the common area of the conference. These days of course it’s all online and less organic. Is there an equivalent for Oliver rallies? Things like modifications, campground planning, bourbon appreciation etc? Possibly I’m just too new to know about this since this is our first rally - but want to be prepared 😀. Admins - please feel free to move this to a new thread or area if it’s in the wrong area.1 point

Ray-Sam Get rest before you get there as there will be a bunch for you to see and learn. I've marked your site and will plan on dropping by at some point to say "Hi". As far as I know, virtually all activities are still being formalized. So, I'd just relax a bit for now. There are some of the presentations already listed and you should take a look at those to determine which will be a MUST DO for you so that you are sure not to miss them. In this regard - pay attention to where the presentation is to be held. Registration and the Beach Pavilion are reasonably close to the camping area. But, most people will prefer to drive up to the Lodge for anything being held in there or in the Ballroom. Bill Yes, while there will be a few non-Olivers there, it will basically be filled with Olivers. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to simply walk around and visit. Don't be afraid to knock on doors and ask for a tour. Take plenty of pictures of any mods you see that you are interested in. Perhaps even start making a list of any people you'd like to meet while there.1 point

Question: Can anyone tell me what "Planned Group Activities" and "Reserved Activities" means on the Events and Activities calendar? We reserved our rally space in Aug last year, registered in Nov last year, and picked up "Ollie 'n' Free", #1007 end of Jan this year--I think we have been a little excited since we went to the factory and started our Oliver process last July!!!! We will be arriving May 17, Site D-1, and departing May 23. @csevel Thank you for starting this thread. Viewing the video on the rally park was very informative (told hubby we need to go out and practice leveling before we head to the rally), the Events and Activities link and the park map were very helpful. Sounds like the park is going to be FILLED with Olivers! Oh, and the dog park information was great as we are bringing our fur-baby, Barney, a 14 lb Italian greyhound with us. Barney says, "thank you" he is excited, too. See everyone at the Rally!!1 point

I think have the perfect location for the boondockers in the crowd - it's a beautiful, private, group site at Buffalo Creek here in CO that would easily accommodate 10-15 Olivers. Caveat - no hookups, pit toilet, water situation can be iffy. We have it reserved this June for a week for an annual friends and family camp. I'll take a serious survey while we are there and see if it could work. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to get it for 2022. You have to reserve a year in advance, and if you don't you won't get the site. I'll take a poll, if I can figure out how to do that. mb1 point

My wife and I are excited to be attending as well. We will be picking our new Ollie on April 29.... and after a few shake-down days the Rally will be our first event! What a great place to watch, listen and learn from those that have done this for a while. I'll probably be the guy that is always waxing his Oliver in spare moments.1 point

I have quick disconnects on both ends of my appliances. (stoves, cookers, fire pit, etc.). Since I do use my extension hose on other accessories it just alitames the carrying of more hoses. One exception is the Little Red Firepit, it's hose does windup inside the unit when not in use, but it to has quick disconnects on both ends which can give if needed two hoses for longer runs from the trailer. And yes, all regulators are removed from all appliances and only the trailer regulator is needed for safe use of each. I guess you can say, I went quick disconnect over board, but the ease of use is worth it to me. trainman1 point
