  1. I placed a request with Southco for a price quote for twenty of the M1-20-91-78 locks. We'll see what they say.

  2. Just got back from a week out with Ollie. I see there's a lot of interest here. I going to try a local marine supply outfit near me, West Marine. Maybe i'll have some good news to report back.

  3. Our Skottle came with a simple Coleman single burner stove and non-adjustable legs, and it was about $200 less than current cost. https://tembotusk.com/collections/cooking-and-accessories I replaced the Coleman with a Kovea Scout isobutane burner for a wider, more even center hot spot, and added an old diffuser plate between the burner and the pan. That’s really helped. With adaptors, I can use butane, isobutane, or propane. People make a wide assortment of meals on it, from grilling, steaming, baking, and more. I’ve both grilled and baked cinnamon rolls on it. I’ve seen steaks, popcorn, pizza, cookies, bread, stir fry, and more. It can definitely be a one pot dinner tool.

  4. Solved that issue by buying mainly box wine. Unlike the old days, there are some decent box wines out there. But, my main criteria for wine is 1) does it taste good to me? And 2) does it trigger allergies? We removed our microwave years ago when it died from lack of use, I think. With your extensive outdoor cooking setup, you'll probably never miss it. We love the additional pantry space in our little Elite. I say, whatever works for you. Several ideas in this thread, from folks who converted.

  5. Hello Ollie. Saw you at Grand Rivers, KY. We were camping not too far away at LBL. Stopped for a burger at Green Turtle Bay, but kinda wish we were having Conch fritters at Green Turtle Cay. Safe travels.

  6. Yeap, 1/4-turn ball valves. I imagine these can be replaced with electrically operated versions. My son bought me a Dewalt 20V leave blower for Christmas. We both have 5-6 Dewalt 20V tools and 4-5 batteries! I'll will bring mine next time, thanks for the idea. We use 1-2 of their flashlights for camping and have an extra charger in the back cabinet, with our Dish Wally and Blu-ray player. I usually bring a 1/4" impact with my tools. Not enough dirty Ollie pics? I didn't want to show the really ugly one earlier, but since you asked... Looks realy good with bronze wheels! Right?

  7. Yeah, they're probably just a little mom n pop, and their cousin built the website. 🙂 Their address is in one of those office +storage unit places, for small shops, low overhead. I personally prefer to buy from small businesses, just concerned for you with the warning, and poor recent reviews. (Then again, we know there are usually just two types of reviews, stellar and cellar. Folks with average normal experiences rarely bother....)

  8. It's http (not https), so that's not great security - wise. I set up an account on uglyfish 3 years ago and it's still there. Seems like a legit site but who knows. I've never actually tried to order anything else though, so will definitely keep a close eye on this - and I'm not going to hold my breath. 🙂 Thanks!

  10. The "skottle" is a really cool piece of gear. Does yours fit on a jet burner on a little bottle, if necessary? Love the concept. When we van camped around Iceland several years back, I wish I'd known about it. Making dinner for two on a jet burner, and minimal nesting cooking gear (think take it on the plane) was an exercise in ingenuity. That would have just been great! (With a lid. The wind was often very strong.)

  12. Yep, and I've read through that a couple of times. I'm not going the separate base route, just through the fiberglass. John doesn't say how long the screws were or how thick the material. Thanks, @KenB I have the hinged door off and left side panel out. I didn't have my light to see the speaker opening. Good, idea! I'll be adding a Blue Sea fuse panel, with the input coming from the current 12V socket, and outputs to: 2 Sirocco fans Alexa Echo Dot Apple TV (eventually, currently 120V) the 12V socket Pepwave cellular router

  13. Oh, yea! I DO have a carbon steel cooking surface. I forgot about the Skottle we've been using for 6-7 years. It's a love hate relationship. It works great until something sticks, and then I end up scraping too much and lose the seasoning. As Art said, it doesn't season as well as cast iron, but easier to clean (unless you have one of those fancy cast iron skillets with a machined surface.) Overall, though, I'm a fan of the versatility. Mine has sockets for legs, but other brands are made for fire or gas. Without legs in my Snow Peak Iron Grill Table kitchen setup.

  14. Right On, Brother! Not an issue of running them at the same time with a 2kw GENSET - that's purely electrical engineering/physics, it's more of an issue of not enough wine bottle storage! HA... Cheers!

  16. The upgrade maxxair dome fan, with the light ring, is still one of our simplest and best upgrades. Quiet, strong, and light overhead. Especially since the wall light is now flukey. I'm looking forward to finding some kind of similar overhead light, maybe around our fantastic vent fan, for the main cabin. My friend (Casita) installed installed an aftermarket thing on her fantastic fan. It has "dots" of lights, so light, but annoying to me. I'll wait.

  18. You can open the top and check all the screw connections to see if any are loose. This design is not good for an RV that bounces down the highway.. There is always the possibility that the installer did not tighten a loose one, but that would be hard to prove If the wires are long enough you can add nylon cable ties to reduce motion. 19. There is power to the trailer from the 30amp RV cord (both ends) but no power IN the trailer and a dead ems. I will look for the lunchbox and remove cover and look in there next.

  20. There is an automatic transfer switch that selects which outside power inlet gets directed to the EMS input. It should be a black lunchbox mounted in the same general area as the EMS and power distribution panel. There will be one cable coming in it from each of the two inlets and a third connecting it to the EMS. I would suggest removing the top cover and having a look at the wiring inside. Start troubleshooting from this point before assuming the problem is with the EMS.

  21. My 2017 LE2 remote display was installed below the street side bed and it should be obvious when you see the bright red lights scrolling through various readings as Frank’s pictures show. The surge protector will be the first black box the incoming AC power connects to. You should be able to find a large black cable on the inside at the same point your power cable connects to on the outside. The surge protector may have a flat grey data cable similar to the cable that connected you old home phone to the wall jack. If you find that flat cable, you can find the remote display at the other end of it. Mossey

  22. Ours is a 2019, but maybe in 2018 the EMS display was mounted somewhere else? Maybe in one of the compartments under the bed. According to the 2018 Elite I manual on the Oliver University, the trailer does have the Progressive EMS. Should look something like this.

  25. Hi Mike, likely me and my oak pollen decorated Oliver. Eating at Compadres before heading out to the Casita Bluebonnet rally in Bandera. Basically a dry run before start of Yellowstone trip in mid-May. Back Friday to prep for covering the Airshow this coming weekend at Randolph AFB. Long weekend and even longer editing hours, but should be fun. https://greattexasairshow.com

  37. I had a factory tour and took precise measurements of the rough opening in Hope of installing the larger Breville. The rough opening before and after the convection oven is inserted is: 21l” wide, 15” tall, 17” deep. Hope this helps.

  40. A couple of questions for those with the most recent "microwave deletion cabinet": 1. What are the dimensions of the opening and the inside of the cabinet. Dimensions mentioned earlier are for the older cabinet. 2. Does the cable port to access the outlet in the upper cabinet come installed? Why doesn't Oliver just move the outlet to the lower cabinet so it can be used? I really want to use this space for our Breville Mini Smart oven (15.75"w x 8.5"h x 12.25"d - including the safety bumpers). I don't want to cut off the safety bumpers, as mentioned by Overland in a prior comment. We use our oven at home, so want the bumpers to protect the wall. They also provide a way to store the power cord. For this to work, the cabinet would need to be approx 12.5" deep. Looking at the measurements on the floor plan and the gallery photo below, the opening should be sufficient. The depth looks pretty darn close, but I don't know is there is an inner lining that makes the cavity much smaller than the outside. I wish the opening could be flush with the counter top (no lip) with the counter extending into the cabinet.

  41. We are on the Oregon coast right now. On Monday we had a Mini-Oliver rally at a gas station in Boardman, OR, when we spied another Oliver. This is a 2014 Oliver that belongs to Mary and David from Walla Walla, WA. Mary and David were on their way to the Willamette Valley for some kayaking. David and Susan

  43. So, today I spoke with the customer service manager at truckfridge . Com about our available space, etc. Super communication with Andrew. He volunteered to measure the new model when it comes in next week to make sure nothing has changed, and it will fit in the cavity, and through the door and entry. So, making progress. Jason was kind enough to send me specs on drawer fronts today, and promised full measurements on microwave replacement cabinet soon. I think we may have room for a small drawer under the new fridge for shoes/ dustpan/whisk broom, etc. We'll see how it works out when we have the new fridge in hand, and build the box. I'm excited to have one more appliance running on solar, instead of fossil fuel. Wish me luck... Sherry

  44. I had to break off the little safety bumpers on the back so that I can scoot it back for the door to close. We just have to make sure we pull it back out when using it so it doesn't cook the rear wall.

  46. Rumline, good questions. I don't know of any toaster oven designed to be used in an enclosed space. Even the more expensive double wall ovens get hot on the sides and back. The inside of the microwave cavity isn't "finished" or lined, so we will need to construct a cabinet box to use it as clean storage. Or, take it to Oliver and let them do it. since our trailer is ten years old, the dimensions of the openings are likely different, and the current trim kits won't likely fit, so it may be simpler to just do it ourselves. I'm kind of thinking of a top hinged door, that would cover the entire opening, (like my horizontal kitchen cabinets at home,) so that I can keep a wider opening to the new cabinet. Also thinking about a slide out shelf or possibly two. I doubt I could use the Brevelle oven, either, due to depth. But for as little as we'd use it, a black and Decker compact convection oven might just work fine in the available space. And I could just slide it out to use it safely, if we built a slide out shelf. Well, those are my thoughts so far. We'll see how it works out. I'm more concerned about getting the refrigerator in, first, but do wish for the designs to work with the rest of the trailer. Sherry

  47. Well, new year, back to work. Thanks for the dimensions, Dave. I wonder about the exterior dimensions of the trim kit Oliver made. Our cavity opening isn't rectangular, as you can see in the photo. It's 21.25 wide, except the top two inches, where the notch reduces the width to 17.25. Height at center is 14, and 12 at the sides. Depth is 15" at the top, but without moving conduit, useable depth would be limited to about 12.5 inches.. Sherry

  48. That looks nice, Dave. I'm sure it's a lot of extra storage-far more than the tiny cavity of my long dead microwave. Thanks for the photos. Gives us ideas to work towards.. The back of your cabinet is white. Is that cabinet board, or the hull? Sherry

  49. I haven't measured the microwave cavity, yet. I'll try to look at it tonight when I am home again. Overland, we have pretty much decided on the truckfridge version of the Isotherm classic 130. Same box, pretty much, but built for a different market, so a little better price. They're out of stock til mid-January, so I am still looking around at drawers. Just hesitate to spend that much on a refrigerator and freezer. In the microwave cavity, We, too, have a 110 outlet at the top. Sherry

  50. For the most part, I think we take pride in being stalked. It happens a lot, people following us into rest areas. Last trip, I experienced meeting a couple who had actually followed us into a campground and spent the night there, hoping to get a peek at the Ollie. They were driving a huge ($400,000) bus and were interested in us!
