I placed a request with Southco for a price quote for twenty of the M1-20-91-78 locks. We'll see what they say.5 points

Just got back from a week out with Ollie. I see there's a lot of interest here. I going to try a local marine supply outfit near me, West Marine. Maybe i'll have some good news to report back.4 points

Our Skottle came with a simple Coleman single burner stove and non-adjustable legs, and it was about $200 less than current cost. https://tembotusk.com/collections/cooking-and-accessories I replaced the Coleman with a Kovea Scout isobutane burner for a wider, more even center hot spot, and added an old diffuser plate between the burner and the pan. That’s really helped. With adaptors, I can use butane, isobutane, or propane. People make a wide assortment of meals on it, from grilling, steaming, baking, and more. I’ve both grilled and baked cinnamon rolls on it. I’ve seen steaks, popcorn, pizza, cookies, bread, stir fry, and more. It can definitely be a one pot dinner tool.4 points

Solved that issue by buying mainly box wine. Unlike the old days, there are some decent box wines out there. But, my main criteria for wine is 1) does it taste good to me? And 2) does it trigger allergies? We removed our microwave years ago when it died from lack of use, I think. With your extensive outdoor cooking setup, you'll probably never miss it. We love the additional pantry space in our little Elite. I say, whatever works for you. Several ideas in this thread, from folks who converted.3 points

Yeap, 1/4-turn ball valves. I imagine these can be replaced with electrically operated versions. My son bought me a Dewalt 20V leave blower for Christmas. We both have 5-6 Dewalt 20V tools and 4-5 batteries! I'll will bring mine next time, thanks for the idea. We use 1-2 of their flashlights for camping and have an extra charger in the back cabinet, with our Dish Wally and Blu-ray player. I usually bring a 1/4" impact with my tools. Not enough dirty Ollie pics? I didn't want to show the really ugly one earlier, but since you asked... Looks realy good with bronze wheels! Right?2 points

Yeah, they're probably just a little mom n pop, and their cousin built the website. 🙂 Their address is in one of those office +storage unit places, for small shops, low overhead. I personally prefer to buy from small businesses, just concerned for you with the warning, and poor recent reviews. (Then again, we know there are usually just two types of reviews, stellar and cellar. Folks with average normal experiences rarely bother....)2 points

It's http (not https), so that's not great security - wise. I set up an account on uglyfish 3 years ago and it's still there. Seems like a legit site but who knows. I've never actually tried to order anything else though, so will definitely keep a close eye on this - and I'm not going to hold my breath. 🙂 Thanks!2 points

I tracked down an older post and some notes I had made on this when I was shopping for a more secure replacement latch in 2020. I remember trying to order the latch on Southco and the only option was "request a quote" - which I did and never heard back. Just checked again and it's still the same message: https://southco.com/en_us_int/m1-20-91-78. I also had found this site that offered Southco latches that also led to a dead end in 2020: http://www.uglyfishinc.com/southco-m1-deck-hatch-marine-enclosure-latches-p/m1-2x-xx-x8.htm. I just tried it again and ended up with a locking compression latch with part number M1-20-91-78 (as @rich.devcorrectly identified earlier). I was able to place an order for a pair of them so I'll see what happens and update this thread if I hear back or actually get the latches. The price is $64 for the compression latch and $20 extra or the lock/key ($84 total for each latch). Maybe it will work this time because 2020 was challenging for everyone and all businesses to say the least.1 point

I've installed these fans too, but don't remember how long the machine screws were. I think you can look at the back of the speakers and can see approximately how thick the fiberglass is in this area. You can get to the speakers when you remover the access panels in the attic. You'll have to do that for the job anyway.1 point

Interesting! Can you please start a new thread about this with a descriptive title so others like me can find it a year or three from now? I wish I lived nearby, I could swap this for you for a couple of doughnuts… This way it is super easy to inspect the contacts of that great big relay: Thanks. John Davies Spokane WA1 point

FYI There are two sizes of these connectors. The 221-41x top out at 12 gauge. You'll need the 221-61x 10 gauge for the transfer switch.1 point

You can open the top and check all the screw connections to see if any are loose. This design is not good for an RV that bounces down the highway.. There is always the possibility that the installer did not tighten a loose one, but that would be hard to prove If the wires are long enough you can add nylon cable ties to reduce motion. I think installing WAGO connectors would be smart for everybody. Electrical fires are not good. I just added this to my off season Honey Do list. Thanks for the information. I just ordered a multi pack on Amazon, these are way cheaper in bulk, and I plan to throw away my collection of old school wire nuts. WAGO 221 LEVER-NUTS 175pc Wire Connector Assortment Pack Caution, don’t buy odd brands, they may not be UL approved.! Good video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=n8gLG6c-iKc BTW it is WAGO, not Wago, just like NATO…😬 John Davies Spokane WA1 point

I would call Progressive Dynamics support and forward your pictures to them. They have improved the way the wires interconnect, ie from using the terminal strip to individual Wago lever connectors. Maybe they’ll give you some satisfaction on a replacement. Also open a service ticket with oliver service. Yours is not the first occurrence of this issue and they need to be kept aware. They may also provide guidance regarding replacement of the switch.1 point

There is power to the trailer from the 30amp RV cord (both ends) but no power IN the trailer and a dead ems. I will look for the lunchbox and remove cover and look in there next.1 point

Yup, my wife thought it was someone from the rally, but told her it was probably you. 🙂 I was trying not to rearrange the concrete construction dividers The Bluebonnet was OK, but the owner of the sole Elite 1 I wanted to see left Thursday before I found his site…well camouflaged by all the Casitas 🙂1 point

Ralph, I figured it might be you. It was in front of Boerne Middle School. I had just seen a Casita on Main Street so must’ve been another Bluebonnet rally attendee. Hope it went well. Mike1 point

Hello to the unmarked Elite II in downtown Boerne, TX this morning. Single bike on the back, I didn’t notice the TV, was just surprised to see an Oliver. Mike1 point

We saw an LE2 going west on WA Hwy 14 between Stevenson and Washougal WA. The LE2 had blue and maybe a grey decals. pam1 point

I was out on a family road trip this weekend hoping to spot a Oliver out in the wild. A tall ask given we are roading southern Idaho. Sure enough, though, headed north on Monday 9/27 about noon between Twin Falls and Mountain Home and red/maroon truck towing a Oliver II with red/maroon pin strips goes by on the other side of the freeway. Wish they would have been headed the same way as us because I would have followed you 😀. Thanks for being on the road though, I told myself seeing a Ollie in the wild this trip might be a sign, dough, what to do now!1 point

OK, seeing an Oliver on the road is one thing, but, as my wife and I were headed out on our usual Saturday night "date night" just last night I spied an Elite II with blue and gold side stripes headed west on highway 64 in Brevard, NC. I started to flash my lights but since we were in my wife's car I figured that they would only wonder what that deranged person flashing lights like crazy was trying to tell them. Bill1 point

Here’s a couple of reverse Ollie sightings… We’re on our way home from Maine and have been PM-ed twice about being spotted on the road. One in Tennessee and one in Virginia. Maybe we’ll get another one this week as we drive across AL, MS, AR and TX! Mike1 point

When we pulled into My Old Kentucky Home State Park campground (small campground) there was another Oliver already here. Hull 781, Cliff and Stacey were on the maiden trip home from picking their new trailer. We had a good visit! Mike1 point

This morning while we were headed north on highway 281 just south of Lampasas, TX we spotted on Oliver heading south. It had a red Oliver logo.1 point

On the 2019 all outlets work off the inverter even the outside outlet. I wanted to see if a portable 110 air compressor worked off the outlet using the inverter. It worked great filled all the tires and used minimal battery usage.1 point

This trip, I bought an extendable wire shelf on legs at Walmart for $8, and put it across the back of the big microwave cabinet. Under the shelf, I stored cans and jars. Bread and pastry boxes on top. Taller, and some shorter daily use items in front. I was able to stow dry goods for more than two weeks in this new space. For the first time ever, I have some empty overhead cabinet space. Now, Paul can have the entire big space over the bed for his clothes in packing cubes, instead of having to share it with cereal boxes and crackers.? The lip at the bottom keeps items contained while traveling, and I can swing the door up without removing the few items on the board... medicines, phones, power brick, coffee cup, etc Still haven't figured out what to put in the drawer beneath the fridge yet. But. That's a nice problem to have. Sherry1 point

Randy, it is much more affordable than the marine version of the Indel/ Isotherm. The customer service rep explained to me that as a land-based fridge, it doesn't have to obtain coast guard approval, so that's a big part of the cost difference. Some pieces are not stainless that are stainless on some of the Indel marine versions. the door isn't reversible, and no choice of swing. But, it looks like you could change out the front panel to another color if you liked something other than basic black, their only option. I'm ok with all the above, at a reasonable price and flat rate of $100 shipping. Most important to me, it says Indel on the door, has the compressor I want, and a 2 year warranty on everything important. We'll see how it works out. Sherry1 point
-
Wow, the TF130 is really affordable, can't wait to see how it comes out.1 point

I'm guessing our old school cavity is cut larger than yours. Our old fridges were much wider ( by 4 inches), and taller ( by six inches, I think), and the old style cavity was " extra generous". I don't think we'll get six inches of storage, after we build a box to support the new fridge. Probably four or five. Maybe only three. But, it will get the bottom of the fridge off the floor, and I'm grateful for that. And any inches of storage I can get. I hang the small broom and dustpan off the wall under the small dinette on Velcro. I'd be very happy to only store them, and slippers, for that matter. Truckfridge doesn't offer your asu, but I'd like to know how that works out for you. I can cancel for another week. I can still connect the power saving unit, I think. It's supposed to work with any Danfoss compressor, with permutations. .. When I spoke with Andrew at truckfridge today, he mentioned that the marine products required coast guard approval, and stainless in places where galvanized works fine where saltwater exposure is not an issue. Hence, a big difference in price. The door is one standard color. Black. I'm ok with that. I've had a black fridge, two brands, ten years. I hope you get the asu issue figured out. Its definitely a great idea. In our earlier norcold, I had to store produce on the bottom, in heavy Tupperware, to keep it from freezing, and still keep the beer cold. Not ideal, from a food safety standpoint, but it worked. Sherry1 point

No threadjack. I'm interested in ideas, or I wouldn't have put the post out there. I misunderstood your earlier comment. Fwiw, there are a few convection microwaves made for rvs, but I don't know of any that would fit the depth of the Oliver microwave cavity. Width and height not an issue, I think. Maybe that will change in the future, as appliances in general have become more efficient as they've evolved. I'm all good with a big cupboard, and space to carry a toaster oven if we plan to camp somewhere with electricity... A real rarity for us.
Sherry
1 point

Hold up...Overland, when you said the toaster oven almost fits, does that mean you just use it on the counter? Or did you make it fit in the cabinet? If one wanted to put a toaster oven in there, rather than opting for the cabinet option, could they simply remove the stock microwave and put in the toaster oven? Then the space wouldn't be so tight. I recall reading somewhere that Oliver can't put a convection oven in the microwave space due to venting. But there are convection ovens that are front-vented for being installed in cabinets. What am I missing?1 point

I haven't measured the microwave cavity, yet. I'll try to look at it tonight when I am home again. Overland, we have pretty much decided on the truckfridge version of the Isotherm classic 130. Same box, pretty much, but built for a different market, so a little better price. They're out of stock til mid-January, so I am still looking around at drawers. Just hesitate to spend that much on a refrigerator and freezer. In the microwave cavity, We, too, have a 110 outlet at the top. Sherry1 point

Bill, we saw you folks as well on I 40 heading East. We were just heading West going up Black Mtn. with our Elite II #208 and red 2017 Tundra tv. We stayed overnight at KOA Asheville West then onto Riverbend CG in Hiawassee, GA for a week. Must have seen 6 or 8 eggs heading East on I40 on the 22nd!1 point

Believe it was towed by a large SUV. Don't remember it's color, but think it was white or light-colored. The graphics on the trailer were muted, blue and gray maybe. Only saw it for a couple of seconds.1 point

Hi...My name is Sandie and I have seen the Olivers at the RV show in Phoenix, AZ. I thought they were the cutest trailer ever. I think I would've ordered one right there, but DH is holding back. He wants bigger than what we have now and I want Oliver. Maybe someday I can hopefully talk him into one. I hope you don't mind if I still lurk on the site.1 point
